PnP. Nose has the expected earth and smoke, also black fruit, mostly berry and tart plum. Surprisingly fruit-driven on the palate, black fruit adding a bit of cherry. Tannins are very mild, not surprising in a 10 year old wine. This is fun, but drink it now.

Decanted an hour before drinking. Cork failed on extraction, quite a bit of sediment. Nose of barnyard and earth, berry fruit lurking behind. Rich palate brings more fruit, high acid, medium tannins and a lot of alcohol. Finishes very long. Feels coarser and more disjointed than previous bottles or other years. A noble wine but time to drink up I think.

This wine continues to be really, really impressive, berry and dry herbs (sage?) on the nose, bright, tart blackberry/raspberry on the palate, a burst of medium tannins in the middle but the tannins are really fading now. I'm going to save my last two bottles for 2018 and 2019, out of curiosity, but in general I'd say best enjoyed soon.

Decanted and drunk immediately with flatiron steak, asparagus and farro. Bright nose of cranberry / currant, cherry, berry, hint of caramel. Tart berry palate, moderate slightly coarse tannins, mouthfilling without any heaviness. This is glorious - can't imagine it improving, would drink now to 2018.
