  • Mieux que je m'attendais! Délicieux avec foie gras.
Encore sur les fruits blancs, fleurs blanches, complexe.
Notes mellifères. Moins «sucré» que je croyais.
    Bon pour encore 10-20 ans!

  • TMM Dinner (aka d'Yquem and extras) (Absinthe, Boat Quay): This was actually pretty good, but given the company it had, it was quite clearly the weakest wine in the flight. The nose was classic Loire Chenin Blanc, with a little mushroom note and a touch of cheesiness showing its age, then green apples and lemons shaded by a breath of lanolin. Decent enough. The palate had a really nice balance to it, with a clean, pure feel to its flavours of green apples and green mangoes. Whatever sweetness the wine once had has clearly mellowd, so this was barely off-dry by the time we got to it. I think the nicely integrated acidity also played down the sugar somewhat. It rounded off with a good, lingering finish, with a little stream of mineral trailing away into the end. Pretty enjoyable.
