I love Foillard and have been buying this, the côte du py and the corcellette back to the 07 vintage. This was the best bottle of Foillard I have ever had. I would drink the last bottle in the next 12 months -- don't see much upside.

For some reason I think my inventory is off and I still have 2 bottles left. I think this is starting to emerge from its dumb phase -- hopefully it gains some complexity over the near middle term. It's delicious, but wanting more for the QPR and from Foillard. Hold next bottle until 2018/2019.

Ordered off the list. This was easy to identify as the ringer, although there were no visual cues. For the first couple hours, there was this strange chemical smell that someone picked out as latex. This proved a bit distracting to me, but after a couple hours that note blew off and we were left with a much prettier nose of red fruit, subtle florality and gentle spice. I will seek out this wine, since I think it could deliver a nice value for the price, but I will probably look for a different vintage and make sure to give it a nice decant.

February Rotating Wine Dinner (Mon Ami Gabi - Chicago, IL): Gave this about 2 hours of air before dinner. The nose had some classic Foillard meatiness with a dark berry profile. The palate was in a nice spot with some secondary tones of earthiness, leaves, and dried floral notes. The masculinity of Foillard's Gamay was there too with some meaty notes that I always love. Overall, while I think the air helped this may be in somewhat of a dumb phase. Didn't have the fireworks that it had 3 years ago...
