  Robe bourgogne très foncée. Sur des aromes de cassis et balsamique. Beaucoup de dépôt dans la bouteille. Vin rond, souple, facile à boire. Manque légèrement de colonne. A boire.

  if you compare 2008 and 2006 vintage of Vigna Monticchio you can tell what time does to this blend. Two more years in the bottle enhances tertiary scents with earth and pencil, while fruit seem vanished. All in all, the wine is enticing, less alive but equally seductive, less brilliant but more mature. Nevertheless 2008 seemed basically more pleasant to me. In a plain evening, looking ahead where the fog is.

  Je me lance, voici ma première note de déguststion. Effet surprise. La dernière que j'ai ouverte il y a 1.5 an environ me laissait l'impression d'être en pente descendante ou au mieux fermée mais je n'y croyait pas trop. Il m'en restait et me suis dit "vite faut boire". J'ai oublié. Aujourd'hui je constate qu'elle sommeillait. Fruit mûrs cerise tannins encore vivant mais pratiquement tous fondu. Belle longueur, soyeux, que du plaisir. Et il m'en reste....une.

  Excellent wine showing good persistence and length with fine tannins. I was surprised by how youthful this wine was showing. Certainly glad I have a couple of other bottles in the cellar to enjoy the evolution of this wine. Still a long way to go! :)
