An intriguing nose of yeast and mineral with some blackberry. The taste varies with time out of bottle and varied from the first night to the second. In fact part of my rating on this wine is traced to the changes with time. The first night it got increasingly like mineral water with alcohol as time passed out of bottle. The 2nd night it was much, much better at about the 1/2-hour point out of bottle, but then after about 1-hour it again became much more like alcoholic mineral water. At its best the taste was licorice-like and had a set of smooth tannins that was intriguing. But, the window for optimal drinking, at least to my taste, was a bit narrow and hard to predict -- it wasn't right out of bottle, but too long out it led to a flat-taste.
