So I was right. The last bottle was an aberration. This is a fairly typical Pleiade with red and blue fruits, cloves, spice and earth. The balance in the wine was excellent - and for once we actually decanted an hour before drinking. Perhaps that helped the wine get into the right mood.

Nice enough. Quite spicy, which I expect from a La Pleiade. The fruit was a bit too intense, jammy for my taste, but suspect this was about the bottle and my palate on the night. Another bottle soon.

Really nice wine. Going well. A powerful wine with intense fruit, at that level it is more like a Barossa shiraz than a Heathcote one. Having said that the flavour profile is definitely Heathcote. I think it will improve for another 3 to 5 years, and then last for some time from there.

Nose of cassis, black berries, characoal, cêpes de Bordeaux, Mokka... taste of very ripe red cherries, ripe tannins, enormous acidity that is balancing the fruit, tannins very ripe and silky... the best of both worlds
