Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 85.5 points

  • Drank at home. Bottle bought from the winery early November 2020 so perfect provenance.
The wine was not decanted but drank in 2 hours.
The wine shows much deeper golden colour than the 2006 tried recently.
The wine shows less intensity compared to the 2006 in both nose and palate. The wine feels more evolved.
    The oak feels more upfront.
Flavour wise, the wine shows oak, oxidative nutty notes, preserved lemon, citrus and quince, a bit of honey in the back and grapefruit.
The wine shows light to medium body, low acidity and medium finish.
The wine feels in decline. Its quite pleasant but if you have any, drink up.
    2006 is far better

  • Dark yellow-gold with greenish hues. Very intense oak on the nose, with ripe stone fruit in the background. Full-bodied, sweet, dense with big fruit, balancing acidity but oakiness dominates. Long finish. Would be a very good wine if not so overoaked.
