Ooph- this wine is a bruiser! First of all, white Northern Rhone varietals, particularly Roussane, can age with the best of them when well made, and this wine is in great shape. There is not a hint of adverse effects of age on this 11 year old white. I would extend the CellarTracker drinking window 5 if not 10 years.
This wine is a real Big 'Un. In terms of weight, this could hold its own with any overblown Aussie Shiraz, Bandol Rouge, or Napa Cab. This wine is thick, viscous, and as aromatic as a vial of Chanel No 5. The fruits are front and center, dominated by overripe tropical flavors on the nose and palate. Right behind the fruits is a big dollop of American oak. Acid is low. I usually enjoy most whites just a touch below cellar temperature. However, at that temperature, the alcohol coming off of this wine nearly made my eyes water; cold worked better for me in this case.
Honestly, this wine is extremely well made, high quality in every way, but unapologetically embodies a certain style. This is not a knock against it, and some my argue that we need more producers who go fully in their own direction. Keep in mind: This wine is a bull not a lamb, a monster truck not a Formula 1 racer, a sumo wrestler not a ballerina, etc. etc., you get the idea. This is not my preferred style, but recommended to those who like the bull/monster truck/sumo wrestler wines.

nice and ripe, sweet on the nose, with orange blossom. Nice acidity here balancing out the ripeness.

Rich and viscous with great aromatics and nice primary fruit and a long unctuous finish
