This has completely transformed since release. I remember it as a backward monster, brooding, dense, dominated by black fruits; the Syrah, maybe 20%, dominated. It is supple, even subtle today. Red currents and forrest berries joint the black fruits. The aromatics are a bit faint but lovely when coaxed out. I don't think this will get any better.

Dark color and cloudy, ruby red rim of moderate extraction. On the nose quite aroamtic with plenty of savory dark fruits, herbs, a earthy minerality and old French barrique spice. On the palate moderate acidity, very fleshy midpalate, a fine transition into a moderately tannic (that are very ripe) finish... moderate alcohol. Balanced wine with good length, great intensity, good complexity. Wine has some finesse though fruit lacks a little detail/crispness, nicely textured, very expressive of it origin. A very good Lopy that lacks a little detail fruit wise that is drinking at or close to its peak.
