  This is a special Periquita made for celebrating 40 years in Norway. It is made in the old style, from the times when Perquita was renowned as a wine that was at its best 10-15 years old. The wine has old fashioned aromas with old barrels and cellar, in addition to red plums, prunes, mushrooms, and some liquorice after a while. On the palate the wine is light, tight and elegant with most of the fruit intact. The wine has many years ahead of it.

The wine has the same oldfashioned aromas with old barrels and cellar aromas, in addition to red plums and herbs. The volatile aromas a couple of years ago were not evident now, and the wine was light, supple and elegant, with a chewy mouth feeling, like a Dao. Much better than the regular Periquita.

  Enjoyed at a recent wine group tasting. This was a wonderfully funkalicious and decently complex mid bodied wine. The $9 price tag makes it an extra special QPR. I will be reviewing the 08 and 09 in the future as well since that is all that is available to me locally and I just had to pick up some more for the cellar!

  There's just no concentration of flavor. This may be a silly complaint for a $9 wine, but the 2006 vintage was so bright and juicy and delicious that this is a major let-down for me. Vegetal notes in the midpalate detracted from the light but otherwise nice fruitiness.
