  • Sadly, I just opened a bottle and it is madurized. It has been well stored so probably was an issue when it was imported or distributed.

  • A brilliant Les Clos, about as good as Chablis gets in my opinion. Drinking as I described in my 2019 TN but with a couple of years of gentle evolution. Drinking in its prime. Ripe, rich orchard and citrus fruit, yet beautifully balanced by persistent, precise acidity and chalky minerality. I expect it to sit on this drinking plateau for at least the next 8-10+ years and we’ll beyond that as an older Chablis. 94+.

  • Drunk with dinner of crayfish risotto and cheeses - matched very well with both. 13.5%. Bright, crisp gold. Nose of butter, honey, melon and almonds developing into cream, caramel and walnuts. A full, structured Chablis GC - much more Pouilly-Fuisse than Pouilly-Fume! Rich and opulent - no steeliness. Although perfectly dry, its richness does give the impression of sweetness and there is a slight bite of alcohol towards the finish - despite its 13.5%. Very well balanced with good acidity keeping it fresh and nice length on the finish. Overall lovely texture and really quite impressive. This is beginning to drink very nicely now with no signs of tiring. Has many years ahead of it.

  • A rich, powerful Grand Cru Chablis that shows real Chablis typicity. Light gold colour with a hint of green. A rocky, mineral bouquet showing notes of wet limestone, oyster shell and chalk with limes, lemons and nectarines. On palate, limes, grapefruit, green apples, limestone and mossy river boulder. Just a touch of pineapple. Tactile and grippy, almost tannic-seemng, with real palate presence. Serious stuffing and mid palate weight reflecting the warmer vintage and the well sited 60+ year old vines. Notwithstanding the vintage, precise, refreshing acidity. Finishes clean, dry and long. Now relatively open, drink over the next 10 years or so.
