(12%) 100% Falanghina – Falanghina is a wine with a deep history, dating back to the Romans in the first century, but this is my first experience with it. White, stone fruit on the nose but this all begins on the palate with a light jasmine honeyed floral tinge surrounded by a melange of peaches that linger nicely on a mineral backbone that delivers a cool refreshing finish. With each sip the burst of purity on the mid-palate (almost like drinking glacial water) continued to surprise me as this wine seems light initially but then surprises you with its intense focus. Balanced with moderate acidity throughout. Gets richer as it warms, peaches emerge further. Fine to drink on it owns but I'd have to think pairing it with crudo or the Italian seafood dish of your choice would be a recipe for success.
Straw yellow in colour. Intense fruity aromas of apples, pears and peaches. On the palate rich, fruity with notes of peaches. Nicely balanced acidity and pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste.

Don't know if this wine got cooked along the way or if it just too old, but this was dead...

Perfectly ripe peaches. Like new world Pinot Gris or Gruner Veltliner without the quirky aftertaste. Very nice.

Surprisingly complex for the price. Medium yellow. Bananas and tropical fruit on the nose. Hint of minerals and good acidity. Good value!
