Whoa, a very lifted, almost volatile nose, of black pepper and green/floral (florist shop) aromas. Like exaggerated Northern Rhone.
The palate is sweeter than expected, and at first it has an little bit of tomato sauce character which I find very off-putting. A day later this had toned down.
Needless to say this is wine that will divide people. I'm leaning on the side of not liking it. We'll see if it gets better or worse.
13.5% ABV, sealed with cork (which is becoming unusual in Australia).

A medium red in colour, the nose typifies what I love about this winery, they manage to extract such flavour and character from a variety that is somewhat atypical to many other wineries in the region. There is a tantalizing array of Kalamata olive and plum on the nose with savoury / cedary undertones.
The palate is concentrated, elegant and complex with blackberry and plum sitting alongside capsicum and olive that provides both texture and flavour contrasts. The balanced acid and tannin inputs builds structure; enhancing both the mouth feel and cellaring potential. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink by 2020)

Shows some complexity on the nose cloves, cinnamon as well as some stalky greenish characters. The green characters are balanced well by some red fruits but it does walk a bit of a fine line. With age I think this wine would show better as it has some potential.
