  • Classic cool climate Shiraz nose of elegant red fruits of raspberries and redcurrent wrapped around by toasty tobacco, hot stones and cumin. No vanilla or chocolate nuances. Very different from the Shiraz of Barossa and Mclaren Vale. The structure and body are on the fresher and lighter side. This is not about the richness and power, it is more about subtlety and refinement. Good complexity and some meatiness on the palate as you chew on it, the fresh acidity and vibrant personality indicate that it is still youthful. Drink it a little warmer than normal would bring out the spicy mineral and leafy notes and increase the perception of a heavier body. For my taste, I prefer the more elegant version with more obvious acidity to keep it fresh and engaging. Would go well with oily tapas. Ready to drink now or to keep for a few more years.

  • European style lighter body, modernistic Syrah, very light onion tint to it already, a bit farmyardy on the nose, savoury, a little spice, and a touch of sweet, drinking right in it's window now, but quite refined and elegant

  • Savoury and stalky (house style) nose. Concentrated gentle red fruit plus a touch of black pepper. Nice if you like the style.
