Dan Kravitz and Hand Picked Selections (Hinton's Wine Store, Atlanta, GA): You have to love a guy who brings his portfolio (Dan Kravitz, Hand Picked Selections) to a retail store tasting event, and the first three things he pours are a 100% Jacquére, a 100% Picpoul de Pinet, and a 100% Grenache Gris. Especially you have to love him when they are all just lovely wines.
This one, grown on a dark schist, and is spicy, ashy, and amazingly granitic/stony juice. ~$17. 87-88+

40-90 year old vines. From a co-operative with fourty active members. Total yield is about 2 tons per acre. All stainless, full malo in tank.
Lindsay notes a touch higher alc. and I don't note that myself. Somewhat plastic character to me that I would associate with reductive wine making.
My tongue hurts right now in kinda a spice-y mexican way. Not sure what that says for Grenache Gris.
A touch of a heavy hand but isn't this stuff supposed to be heavy?
