Brick red, minimal brown at the edges, slightly translucent. Moderately viscous. Very pronounced mint, herbal, bell pepper aromas reminiscent of the old Martha's Vineyards, Insignias, Johnson-Turnbulls. Not for everyone but I think it's very enticing. Soft and round on the palate, while still quite concentrated, with the same prominent herbal components mixed with black cherry fruit, some sweetness.. Very long, viscous, slightly hot aftertaste. An outstanding wine, at its peak, not at all too old. Drink now, but should easily keep another few years. I would buy more if I could. Ric

While previewing this wine on CT I decided to give one a try for evaluation. I opened at 2pm and drank a small pour with lunch, (lamb leftovers) my notes are from this tasting. slight brown on edge starting to show some age but still a decent noise but unusual. Some prune at first but changed immediately to diesel tobacco and liquorish flavors. Soft on the palate, medium bodied light cherry finish and not very long.
My plan was to open and have at dinner which ended up being at 8pm. over oxidized you almost couldn't smell it any longer. 3 people drinking it couldn't put a fruit or smell to it's aroma. Peggy said it smelled like the women's feet who stomped the grapes from 8 years ago and never cleaned. If you could get passed the smell the wine actually was still drinkable. With a longer finish Peggy liked it 90 points I thought it was 85. Suggestion drink them all now and drink it fresh from the bottle

Must have waited a bit too long, as the bottle was bad
