Perfect example of age-worthy Viognier. 30 years old yet the freshness is comparable to a white Burgundy with half its age. Touch of dusty / musty sous bois initially, but blew off quickly, leaving behind a beautiful array of citrus fruits and lemon oil. Waxy and creamy, An incredible testimony on age-worthy Viognier. Chateau Grillet Tasting + after.... (De Gustibus + Hutong): Starts really nice and then the finish is just a bit off. It's a bit like grass clippings that have sat out in the sun for too long. Prob a bit off with the bottle, but lucky to just have one given how big the line-up is.

First experience with this wine of any vintage. The first thing you immediately noticed was the color. Was a 27 year-old viognier supposed to have such a bright youthful hue? The wine was very much alive with little oxidation that I sometimes associate with old white rhone. I find condrieu sometimes a bit heavy on the alc but this was not heavy at all to my palate. Really pleasant and a wine with unique character.

At first this had the warm fuggy smell of my grandmother's wardrobe but opened out to a rich mix of apricots, light honey and shiny acidity. I enjoyed it, but more a wine for intellectual discussion with a few friends than something to slurp with seafood. Well made wine - 2 glasses more than enough.

Great nos of dried apricots & honey, very evocative. The palate had less depth, it was fairly round and didn't have God acidity you're used to with white wines, there was a bitter almond finish, super interesting. It not a wine I would rave over
