An absolute delight. The cork broke on extraction but the seal was very good with barely one mil of creep around the base of the cork. Decanted through a fine cloth to pickup any cork crumbs, minimal silt. Half a bottle put aside for tomorrow night. Dark red red through to the edges, no sign of browning perhaps a little bit of crumbling at he edge. Bouquet of plum and dark berries with a hint of aged wood/wood polish and then a hint of milk chocolate and mint. Pretty much the same on the palate but the balance was lovely. A luscious wine worth every bit of the dollars and capable of a few more years in the cellar.

Displaying the bouquet and flavours of a fourteen year old shiraz, polished wood dark red berries, plums, chocolate and a hint of aniseed. dark red though to the edges, good body with nice length. Very much a drinking now proposition rather than further prolonged cellaring.

I have waited a long time to open this bottle. I decanted it for 6 hours. It didn't disappoint. Deep ruby plum flavours with a touch of muscat. It felt at it's peak or possibly just starting to the downward slide. Nonetheless it was awesome. Quite light for a shiraz which pleased a lot of my guests as most prefer a softer shiraz than myself.

concentrated black fruit, ripe spice and vanilla oak masked by oxidised and dusty but not dirty nose - not completely flawed but definitely not correct.
