Strong diesel nose, nice and dry with just a slight touch of sweetness. I agree with others that a smoky character shows up with time. Everyone really enjoyed this and thought it was a unique wine.

Off dry fruit in a dry structure. Plenty of zing and fizz to carry the sweetness. Bags of fun but not particularly serious and for me I don't quite see the point.

Taste of New Zealand (Sydney, Australia): Mandarin, quince and smoky aromas that give the impression of a sweet wine to come. The palate is different though, with good acid and while there is fruit richness it isn't overly sweet. Started to get smokier and take on some funkier character as it warmed up.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #076; Riesling but NOT from Germany (by AW): Beautiful and complex bouquet with good minerals and lemon. On the palate beautiful as well, some herbs, almonds and pleasant bitterness. A beautiful, fresh and elegant wine.
