Discovering Wine: The deep garnet Killka Malbec from Mendoza has black cherries and leather on the nose, with tastes of black cherries. Smooth and soft in the mouth, the finish has good length with black cherries and a hint of white pepper. Seems a little too (fruity) sweet to me.

Consumed a few days ago with no formal note taken. Nose: Medium plus expressiveness, dominated by dark florals - quite pleasant. Palate: Medium bodied, high tannins, some darker fruit flavors but very thin through the mid-palate. Ended with rustic and tart flavors through a medium length finish. Decent but far from great, ended a long run of pretty special Argentine Malbecs for me.

Sorella In-store Tasting (Minneapolis): A great value wine to start off 2012. Blueberries, plum, spice and mild pepper. Medium finish and not a powerhouse wine but real elegant. Drink now and at $12 a real great every day wine.

Taste of very ripe cherries. Smell was rich, maybe a bit over ripe.

South American Tasting (Jan's House): Not as good as the previous bottle. Spice, dust and light fruits. Simple and an everyday wine with burgers.
