  • Opened bottle about 6 hours before wonderful dinner at the Bistro on Cannon Beach, Oregon. Nose of light, aged wood and deep dark flowers.Palatte is full bodied, deep red and black berry flavors perfectly balanced with minerality and acidity. The finish, reflects the entire palate, just grows longer and longer, very much appreciated near the end of the bottle. Must be a great ( maybe last great?) window right now.

  • Decanted and served. Took a half hour for some unpleasant green pepper to resolve but it was close to perfect with some air. Deep, balanced bright mountain fruit, drinking in the peak of its secondary window, with sweet light acid, mature tannins, earth and licorice. Superb.

  • What a great wine. This is truly a favorite. So smooth and perfectly balanced. Outstanding as soon as the cork is popped. (see previous notes)

  • This was my second bottle consumed. See my tasting notes on my other review for this wine. This wine is simply outstanding when tasted alone but this night it was put against 99 Harlan and 01 sloan ( much more expensive wines). The lokoya was tasted first and was as it was on previous tasting. All people in the group loved it. Until the group tasted the second wine of the night which was the Harlan 1999. The Harlan was explosive and had so much power and body that it did make this Lokoya flabby and thin feeling. The Lokoya was everyones #2 & #3 wine of the night.
Not to take anything away from the Lokoya I did only rate this 96 this time versus my 98 point rating previously. I would have again scored this wine higher but the Harlan over powered it. This Lokoya is still an outstanding wine especially for the price. I love this 2007 as its the best Lokoya I have had.

  • Closed and tight right out of the bottle. Bottle was decanted for 4+ hours and continued to get better in the glass. Outstanding nose of Vanilla, mint, eucalyptus, and red fruits. Well balanced from start to finished. Not over powering what so ever. It drank perfect and I can't imagine how good this will be in a few more years.
