  • Well it was my daughter and son-in-laws 20th wedding anniversary and we could not celebrate together for many reasons so I opened a 2000 wine to drink with dinner. For the third night in a row the cork broke upon extraction and I decanted using a vinturi. The nose was plum and coffee. The palate was dominated by coffee. Plums were noticeable as well as hints of sweet pipe tobacco. The finish was moderate to long. My only bottle - it was given to me as a gift at a business function 15 years ago.

  • Bottle was flawed. Cork was very soft. Bummer!

  • Central NJ CT Offline (Mistral - 66 Witherspoon St in Princeton): This wine was just spectacular (esp when you consider the vintage). We opened prob an hour or two before pouring (no decant). Paired with a wagyu flank steak and foie butter. Very soft wine, nice cranberry flavors, good spice, good earth. I could just smell this wine forever. Unfortunate that this is our last bottle. Has a few more years left in it, although drinking pretty perfectly now.

  • A bit disjointed on the original taste - I got almost a cola flavor when it was first poured (we opened the bottle and let it air for maybe 35 minutes, but no decant). With just a bit of time in the glass though it opened up into one of those stupendous Lokoya wines that we have come to love. I would say more spice cabinet and earth than fruit although there was a touch of it sticking through. Very much in the 'right' drinking window with a vision of the downward sloping cliff to come. Will drink our last one in the next few months. But what a wonderful wine. Many ppl put it as the favorite of the table (I think I might have liked the '04 Ovid Experiment with some time more, but both were wonderful).

  • Superb easy drinking cab. Very elegant but still plenty of juice. I understand due to the vintage that this wine may be missing the Lokoya power, but at the same time the "shortage" of it makes it special fun to drink. Lots of red berries and great fruit. Wonderful effort for a 2000! Drink - 2018.
