Tasted double blind. Charming nose, ok flavors. Fully mature black cherry starts off with plenty of charm. Palate isn't perfectly balance with a tart finish. Moderate weight, length and complexity. More interesting than tasty.

2006 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage

Served blind alongside the 2001. Big, powerful and meaty with black cherry and plum start-to-finish. Hints of how great this will be come through, but still backward. Lots of tannins, but very elegant. Very long finish. 94-95 point potential, but needs more time in the cellar. So much better vs a seemingly tired/ oxidized bottle a few months ago.

Tasted blind alongside the 2006. Red and black cherry with black pepper, meaty character, savory spice and earth. Very long, very energetic. Sneaky power. Very good now, possibly with further upside.

Tasted blind. Slightly reductive and very ripe at the same time. Also a bit of new oak still protruding. But overall good+ weight with powerful fruit and good+ length. More air would probably have helped.

Tasted blind. Black cherry and berry aromas and flavors, nicely supported by elegant tannins and lots of power on finish. Charming wintergreen background note. Very good now, with upside from here.

Tasted blind, immediately after tasting Grange '92 blind. As much red and black fruit with very enticing spice. Fresh, powerful start, the very elegant and long finish. Almost as good as Grange.
