Betz email. I don't need more wine at all so will only buy a case. ...or two

I love that.

I prefer the Bordeaux in the spring, so I bought a case there but will probably buy 4 bottles of their Rhone, 1 rose and 1 Chenin Blanc.

Pressed delete on that email, per plan. Not sure what I will do when the QC offer comes.

Reynvaan - for delivery in Fall 2018.
I dislike the whole futures thing, but I'm in for 6.

We buy futures now so later we can drink the past after sufficient cellaring.

I'll probably do a case of Reynvaan, but skip Alban...

The only offers I'm waiting on are JEC's large format for previous buyers and MacDonald's allocation in September.

Got the QC "Snail Mail" letter yesterday. This year's offer will go live on August 18th.
Their 2014 QC Galitzine Vineyard Cab Sauv from Red Mountain scored WA100 by Jeb Dunnuck.
This is apparently a replacement for their previous high end cab - QC Cab Sauv Columbia Valley.

I definitely intend to stock up on the more affordable CVR (Columbia Valley Red).

+1 and Amen, Karl. I am still debating one release offer that is supposedly guaranteed for about another week. On one hand, it is Pinot Noir from Sonoma 2014 vintage. Supposedly this is the best year for CA PN in a decade. And I have a few kinda sorta "trophy" wines from 2013 and 2015. This would complete the trifecta...

OTOH, the wine is $$$$. Looking at alternatives for that money. Doubting whether I will accept the full offer. If it goes away, I'll be OK. So many others out there.

Conflicted Cheers?

In previous orders we've always been offered both Galitzine and QC CS Columbia Valley. They offered the regular 2014 CS back in Jan I think (I also thought that got 100 points) so maybe this is the timing for the rest of the offer?

Just found out that I am now able to order from Betz. Considering, just considering, the Rose' Cache, the Besoleil, the La Cote Rousse' (Red Mtn.), and the Cuvee' Frangin. This would be a new winery for me. And I admit to a respect for Red Mountain Syrahs and Cabs. All I have tasted in the past have been impressive. All of them.

Tasted an array of Betz last year and remember being impressed. It is an option. Any input appreciated, as always. Especially on the question/dilemma of QPR. And, in your experience, how often one must order to stay on the list.

Cheers!

I believe it's $42. I seem to remember a 10% case discount last year, but I have not seen it mentioned in this years communications.

I really like Betz wines, and I generally prefer Bordeaux varietals to Rhones. I tend to order a case of wine in the spring with at least half of that being Clos de Betz, their baseline BDX. I buy about 6 bottles in the fall including their Syrahs and one bottle of their South African Chenin Blanc.

Steve & Giselle are good people, they've donate tastings on a couple of occasions to my kid's high school auctions, My brother & I bought one of the tastings, which they hosted in their house overlooking the winery. Simply put, it was the best tasting I have ever had. They were excellent hosts.

Vincent is such an amazing deal, all of his wines are fantastic. We tasted within a couple of years ago, great guy too.

While I reall need no more wines, Vincent is a must buy. They do not gather much dust. The Gamay is high on the list this year, Chardonnay is always a buy. I may even do a pickup run this year. The Eola-Amity Hills is becoming my favorite AVA for whites and reds.

Nice!! I didn't visit the tasting room back in June so i'm now getting low on stock. Curious to hear how the "Empire" is.

His Blanc de Blancs is always well done.

The Empire is terrific with refreshing tree fruit and touch of fresh nut bread, balanced mouth feel and clean finish. After the slightly heavy/cloying Leland, I had expectations in check. This one left me with one of my best impressioms when we tasted at the winery while picking up my sprimg allocation and I grabbed another case before they're gone.

Love their stuff and great QPR bubbles!

Got the bad email from Saxum. No soup for me. The wait time is listed as six years, up from the 2016 4-6 year wait note. I have been on the list for 5 years, 5 months and 18 days, so 2018 for me (I hope).
