Hey everyone, Steve Robertson (SJR Vineyard) has given you a "cut in line" option to bypass their waiting list and get an allocation this year. This is only good until February 2nd, and a limited number of allocations, so act quickly!

See the post Pinto made a couple above this one. You need to go to www.delmaswines.com and sign up, but put (CT) after your first name. This bypasses the wait list and puts you on the allocation list.

rwilk2000 and I met up with Steve last fall for a vineyard tour, and I've had the Delmas wines. I guarantee you want to be on this list...think how you'd feel if you'd gotten on Cayuse in 2000? Delmas is already on that trajectory...

So I signed up for the list, how do we get to the front. I will not be greedy and will share an allocation with another worthy soul from PDX if anyone is so inclined.

Dennis, did you put (CT) after your first name? If so, you will be given an allocation when ordering opens, thus bypassing the wait list. If not, let me know, I can email Steve for you...

I signed up for the Delmas list, but it may be a game time call when I get the allocation notice. I'm pretty loaded up on WA Syrah. I'm going to try to track down a bottle of this elsewhere before I have to commit, but I don't see it popping up in Wine Searcher.

Hotel booked. Flights will be later as I frankly don't know where I'll be coming to/from. :) I have more than a minor interest in going via Portland with a night or two before hand as OR is one of the two states I have never been too yet. (AK is the other)

I got an email from Mary this am so I will email back with the history of the CT wines and relating that we had the pleasure of meeting them this summer when visiting the Edelmans' Sylvanus Vineyard open house west of Yamhill. Previously when Lisa heard I was a WW Rasa buyer, she said I needed to get some Delmas so I picked up a bottle from Full Pull. Had a good conversation with Steve regarding The Rocks AVA and their move to the WW Valley. Started out with "Oh, you grow a few grapes out in Walla Walla. I bought into that WA CT project with Rasa.

Like you I have a good deal of WA syrah. I am picking up a few Delmas from here and there, but do not at the moment feel I need to take up a space on the list that someone else might appreciate. I have only tasted the wine once (when they were pouring at McCarthy & Scheiring). I was incredibly impressed and bought two bottles when I was committed to not buying any more wine..... I have not had Rasa syrah in a while, so don't feel I can make that comparison. Cayuse I have had a good deal, and I would say Delmas is comparable -- perhaps a little more restrained and refined than Cayuse (though remember this is based on just one vintage of Delmas). If you are not getting Cayuse and want to get in early on what will clearly be a major player in the Rocks, I would highly recommend getting on their list. (I do not know them, and am not being paid for this endorsement. :-) )

Thanks for the response, I also am limiting my WA purchases and only getting a few select wines now, No Girls and Cayuse have taken up the cash. Good to hear Delmas is more restrained an hopefully drinking younger. I am more an AFWE type now, but like to share my better wines which are always enjoyed. I definitely do not need anymore wine at this point, my kids will drink well. I get this, "dad can you donate a good bottle of red for a dinner?"

The Rasa tasting room is literally a mile from the Oregon state line, and the SJR vineyard, and all of the Rocks AVA for that matter, are in the state of Oregon. So while Portland is nice and a good choice for access, you'll get to check OR off your "states I've visited map" any way you get there. Alaska is also nice that time of year, and several daily flights to many points from SEA :)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

An event with the kids just got rescheduled to this same weekend. Need to decide which to attend. It's a big blow whichever one I don't attend. I might still be able to attend the event with the kids and fly into WA on Saturday morning.

****. No way to make the logistics around attending both events work that makes any sense, so I’m going to have to bow out of this. I’m incredibly bummed. ****.

I'm REALLY hoping you are referring to being sad about Eric not attending and not implying you are out as well!

Im gonna check and see if I can drum up some interest with the Lady tonight.

The event is right around our anniversary and we love wine trips and this would be a good one.

Not going to be able to make it either - I wasn't able to get Mr Cookie to agree.

I'm changing mine to

Bennor +3

Any advance scheduling would be nice.
What day, what time, etc.
We are trying to lock in dinner reservations and other producer gatherings on Barrel Release Weekend.

What is Alaska Air doing anywhere near Florida?

Not only Florida, but New Jersey as well!!!

Sadly, they have discontinued their Havana route.
