Wife guessed Syrah because it does have an initial hit of sweetness but it does fade to Tempranillo. Medium finish. Medium/full mouth feel. This one might be hard to guess in a blind tasting. Excellent QPR at $35. Cost is higher now with recent vintages. Excellent Toro if you haven’t tried this region. |

Still the same blackberry fruit notes on the palate and nose but perhaps more restrained than the last bottle. Maybe a little too much heat from the alcohol content of 15.5% that tends to overpower the fruit. It did seem to evolve overnight to allow air to integrate all the elements of fruit, tannin and alcohol so that the fruit finally emerged. So i really enjoyed the last four ounces though i had to filter off quite a bit of sediment at the bottom. Next time I will decant twice before serving! |

The fruit might be giving way to secondary flavours since I last tasted 2 years ago, black fruit giving way to dark chocolate, tea leaves, and a lot of sweet tannin. No time to air out this glass but hoping that a decant for the rest of the bottle will tame those tannins a bit. |

Fresh blackberries and cassis at the forefront. Dark chocolate, espresso, and tobacco bring up the rear. Complex, but not too much. Like reading an article on mRNA technology. Smooths out even more with an hour or two decant. Very good now, and will probably get better in the next few years. |

At two hour mark the wine softened and was lovely. Dark black fruits dominate. Toro is becoming a favorite Spanish wine of mine now. |

Think sandy soils with river rock. Hand-harvested. Aged for one year, so I would think it could use the Crianza designation. Medium ruby in the glass. Leggy (15% ABV). Black cherries, graphite, possibly cigar box on the nose. |
