Terrific white Rhone, light honey, low acidity, very light oak, 80% Clairette, 20% Roussanne, 13.5% alc., refreshing, sophisticated, good length and complex finish. Paired with Chilean sea bass.
First tried & enjoyed with Lyonnaise cuisine 2 years ago at Machon luncheon at Bar Boulud.

Really outstanding CDP and an absolute joy to drink, delightful, fresh, vibrant fruit, a really lovely mouthfee, l and a silky finish that had a decent amount of length. This wine had a great melange of red berries, some plum, a bit of cedar, and some nice spice elements. This was a good wine with excellent pedigree. I will be looking for more of it.

Pulled this delicious CdP out for Easter Sunday lamb with all the family. Lovely concentrated aromas of anise, clove, vanilla, kirsch, rose petals & black & red cherries. M(+) tannins present but with time in the decanter they seemed to mellow. Palate is more black fruit with blueberry too. Feels like a wine that will start to develop in 2-3 years, for now it's very tasty but will get better.

This is a superbly charming wine that is in a lovely condition at the moment. There is still lots of fruit left, but the tannins have properly softened and integrated. The wine provides a beautiful aroma and flavor palette of ripe red and dark fruits, herbs, garrigue and spices.

Decanted for over 2 hours. Aromas potpourri, raspberry, cherry, melted chocolate and licorice. Flavors of licorice, raspberry, cherry, rhubarb and hint of mesquite. Ends with a 35 second finish with raspberry and licorice. This is consistently a great wine for the money.

This wine is at or past peak, depending on your preference. Hints of decline, sweet barn straw, peak maturity fruit and fungus, deep gold coloring, waxy full mouthfeel, med length finish with noticeable oxidative features. Drink up!

Pop n poured. Drinking great in the zone. Nose shows some funk/ smoke and some floral elements. Tastes cherry with dark fruit nice garrigue very smooth goes very well with steak. Delicious

Two hour double decant. Deep magenta color. Strawberry, raspberry, peppermint patty, Earl Grey tea, eucalyptus, and subtle coffee grounds. Smooth, dry, slightly herbal palate. Full tannins on the longish finish.

Brought by a friend to our monthly supper club. Solid showing for a not so great vintage.

I had 2 "basics" ChdP from this great winery.
2001 - 95 points
2017 - 96 points
This is a Special Reserve Cuvée. It's named in honor of the founder of the estate, Auguste Favier.
Because of that I'm sure it has to be better then their regular ChdP

First sniff and first sip and this is the masterpiece. I think it's the most unique wine ( in a very positive sense) I have ever had the pleasure of drinking
Especially the taste. Nothing unusual, but the balance of all components is incredible.
But let's start from the beginning.
Smell? On the sweet side. Plum, milk chocolate, blackberry, but also herbs, earth, forest, vanilla, licorice and who knows what else is here. Anyway - pure pleasure.
Taste - as I wrote: herbs and one more time herbs, but...
Perfectly balanced with sweet black fruits, chocolate, raspberry and mandarin ( am I crazy or what?) and lovely spice
Acidity is vivid and perfectly blended with sweet flavors
Tannins are ripe and grainy.
Finish lasts forever with all what I mentioned.
2017 got 94 points according to the WA Vintage Guide. Outstanding. Still tannic, youthful or slow to mature.

I take a small slice of salami and I still have this wine sensation in my mouth.
Unbelievable.
I just finished my third glass.
Additional smell - barbecue and smoke.
Flavors - barbecue meat, black pepper.
And this incredible long finish drives me crazy straight to ... paradise

Opened at a local sushi restaurant. The nose was hints of peach. The palate was peach, apricot and a little citrus. The finish was very smooth making it an enjoyable bottle of wine.

Guest somm with a work colleague for the evening - supplied wine from our cellars for a work dinner (Pro Bono, Palo Alto CA): First red of the evening. Supplied from Robin's cellar. Decanted about 90 minutes.

Bright garnet color, not separation. Nose showing red fruits, spice. Palate of blackberry, cherry, plum, cola. Spice and fruit cake. Texture is viscous and jammy at this stage, spices through the mid palate. Full body, long finish.

Great showing on this evening. Still young, should evolve nicely over the next decade.

Deep garnet. Cherry and phenolic aromas, touch of oak/varnish. Delicious, complex flavours of cherry, pepper, chocolate, with dry tannins and balancing acidity. At the end a note of blueberry pie. Lovely.

Nez enivrant, pur, charmeur, solaire sans être confit, floral et doucement fruité (fraise, cerise bien mûre), qui sonne C9dp; la trame du millésime avec ses qq pluies l’été souligne un vin sans lourdeur bien qu’en puissance.
C’est fou comme il a changé en 2 ans, il semblait plus léger et aérien. Pour devenir plus papien (fruits à l’alcool) avec le temps…
