The palate is fresh, lush and packed with black plums, chocolate and coffee beans and a refreshing touch of mint that sneaks into the back of the finish. Drink from 2025-2039. |

2/1/2024 - La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 92 pointsA deep ruby blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, Vieux Château Mazerat's 2019 iteration offers a loaded olfactory platter of chocolate-covered cherries, dark bramble fruits, cassis, mulling spices, lavender and cedar. Full-bodied, low-to-medium in acidity and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it delivers ripe flavors that mirror the aromas, framed with toasted oak and plentiful fine-grained tannins. Layered on the mid-palate and lengthy on the back end, this is a modern-style Saint-Émilion that will have many fans. There is plenty of stuffing here to ensure that this wine will have significant longevity. Sampled over a two-hour period from a bottle that had been Vinturi-decanted three hours prior, it remained stable on the nose and palate throughout the entire tasting interval. Although I suspect that it did not necessarily need this much air, I am certain that it did not hurt. Drink now-2044. |

12/25/2023 - PMJak11 Likes this wine: 95 points1hr+ decant. Loved this! Dark red color with a high quality nose and finish. Tough to describe but it’s what you expected to smell and taste in a higher end Bordeaux. I sensed some Italian influence as the tannins were prominent. Paired nicely with ham and sweet potatoes. Merry Christmas!! |

10/27/2023 - Winemaker51 Likes this wine: 92 pointsAromas of Oak, spice box, plumb sauce and earth. Did not detect any green, nor herbaceous notes. Yes, I agree oak was a bit too dominant in the aroma. Flavor was darker fruits and still plumb and ripe blueberries. Yes, tannins, but a good level to reign in the delicious fruit. Chalk/limestone terroir was also on the finish. Overall, a fine example of St. Emilion from a vintage that was about balance. 2008 Right Banks are drinking beautifully now. |

8/12/2023 - Zweder Likes this wine: 94 pointsBeautiful and intense bouquet with dark berries, lead pencil, licorice and chocolate. On the palate dark berries, licorice, graphite, oak, cedar, cigar box, beautiful acidity and some lovely sweet notes. Concentrated wine with beautifully round tannin. Is entering its early maturity stage now and will probably improve over the next 5 – 8+ years. 94+ |

6/29/2023 - Ernestas Likes this wine: 92 pointsOne of the top labels of Chateau Tessier, made from a single vineyard planted in 1947, a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% CF. Deep garnet colour, ruby hue. Intense rich aroma of prunes, earth, black cherries, spices, toast, graphite, dried strawberries, dried rose petals. Medium+ body, complex and rich with elegant structure, leathery and toasty black and red fruit flavours, ripe and well integrated fine high tannins, long finish. |

12/25/2022 - ChopperWine Likes this wine: 93 pointsHonestly, do not waste the bottle drinking it now. It is a baby. You can tell this wine is going to be great, but it needs many years in bottle in my opinion. The other reviews are accurate as I read them, but this truly needs to be laid down. |

12/15/2022 - Vinnut Likes this wine: 93 pointsDeep, dark garnet, inky, opaque in color. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of earthy/dusty/gravel & floral notes, spices, tobacco, cocoa, herbs & cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, mulberries & dark cassis with spices, herbs, minerals, cocoa & a hint of oak/vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit & structure to develop further with additional aging at which time, it may merit a higher score (94+). |

11/5/2022 - chatters wrote: NRDecanter Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark, London): Medium minus intensity aromas of oak, plum, sweet spice, very slightly gamey note with a herbaceous underpin, a little brambly note as well. Medium plus intensity mouth watering acidity, again preposterously woody tannins are chalky and dominate the palate. What is the purpose of this wine? Surely the idea is to sample the terroir of the grapes not the oak forest... |

Juicy acid, tight chalky tannins are drying and close down the palate, ridiculously young enamel stripping stuff. Made with a good deal of hubris. Nope. |

11/5/2022 - chatters wrote: NRDecanter Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark, London): Again a slightly dusty glass. Plummy, rich, dense smelling with a very slight herbaceous underpin, a little gameyness with time. Juicy, fleshy, tight textured drying tannins prove woody. Plenty of front of mouth grip. There may be fruit somewhere between the grains of the wood. Meh |
