Palate was initially shy (pop and pour) but with a little air it started to show better: decent concentration of red berries, good acidity leading to a medium finish on spices and earth where the fine tannins show up a little. The palate is not quite up to the nose but still a very enjoyable mature Burgundy. This bottle didn't need further aging to my taste. |

Celui ci est un immense pétard, à parfaite maturité, sans défaut aucun façon Bayard… très grand vin , tout en gourmandise, fruits rouges, fruits noirs (cassis). Un archétype du climat de Chambertin. Il mériterait d’être promu en premier cru. Il y en a tant et tant qui ne s’en approchent pas même de loin et qui s’u trouvent, indéboulonnables ! |

Incredible purity of red cherry fruit and cola, perfectly balanced which surprised me given the vintage. New oak signature is definitely there but not excessive. 12.5% alcohol in 2018, just fantastic. Tonight, this performed similarly to a 2009 Clos des Lambrays once it had some time to get going. |
