Mid gold. Perfumed with ripe, fleshy, stone fruit. Lychee and florals in the background. It’s all too easy on the palate. Lush, generous, integrated, harmonious. Enjoyed.

Golden yellow, Balanced topical fruits, the honey is softer than the 15, more of a white honey. There is more acid here than the Dry River 2015 Chardonnay giving it a slightly fresher edge, but I wouldn't hold on to it much longer. Drink it now.
Paired with Chinese at home on a summer afternoon in Sydney Australia. Slightly spicy, loved with the Dimsum and Cheeseburger springrolls.

This was another big winner on the night. Bright ruby. Lovely nose, complex and expansive. Beautiful balance, real finesse. Blackberry but also red fruits too. Great acidity. Very fine tannins. Long.

p&p. bright nose on cherry and peony. there is something wild and elegant at the same time. some bramble notes but not in a bad way (i.e. lack of ripeness). it took 15 minutes for the wine to settle in the glass. the palate was gorgeous, seamless, fresh and long. in a very good spot right now.

New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Dark ruby. Bottle funk and bacony notes that blew off to show black fruit and cooler menthol. Medium weight with strikingly long clay base. Strict black fruit, excellent acidity, and firm tannins. Rather serious and backward right now, quite different from the “cheery cherry” of many of the Pinots we’ve had over the past few days. I probably would have guessed France if blinded.

It is a big Pinot, the colour is deep and the fruit is intense, but it's not due to excessive ripeness as the wine only weighs in at 13.5% abv and the fruit is tart and fresh.
Sour plum, red cherry, cinnamon and earthy spice, a subtle fresh greenness that I'm guessing is whole bunch stalks. Lively acidity leads the way while the tannins are quite soft.
An absolute pleasure to drink though I capped the score at 92 as, as much I enjoyed it, intellectually it didn't seem that complex but somehow was just bloody delicious anyway.

Tasted at the Grove restaurant in Auckland as part of the tasting menu.
Tropical fruit on the nose: pineapple especially. Juicy and good fruit; relatively voluminous mouthfeel. Excellent acid/fruit balance and went very well with the zucchini in butter emulsion with a topping of caviar. Quite good and a very positive surprise... One of the best dry New Zealand Rieslings tasted.

This is why I buy Dry River. It may not be judged the finest Chardonnay in the world according to our friends the critics, but god damn it's got stand up and punch you in the mouth flavor!.

Out of the bottle its a golden yellow, with dominant honeysuckle notes. Its almost like sticking your nose in a jar of liquid honey. The flour is immediate with over ripe Peach and Pears, white honey and butter. The wine goes long and I almost called it stalky but its more like you crunched a pear seed between your teeth and combined with the rich sweetness of the peach/honey, that flavor hangs like a glider.

Drink it now, its not going to go much longer as the acid line is almost gone. I would pair with light cheeses or rich seafood - crab or cray. Gorgeous, worth 9 years in a cellar.

The nose is more secondary and tertiary while the palate is primary and secondary.
Vanilla, cinnamon and almonds on the nose. The palate shows peach, ripe lemon and mandarin fruit. Sweet vanilla, subtle ginger and a spicy warmth.
The longer I had this in the glass the more I liked it. Really good Chardonnay in a great spot with a balance of flavours.

Full on fruit, citrus, lime, lemon, grapefruit notes, a few herbal notes.
Palate shows full body, high intensity, high acidity, fresh citrus notes, full body, ripeness, long finish, tight.
The wine shows depth, structure, depth, still an infant, with time you get some beautiful tea/chamomile notes adding freshness

Rich and complex. Golden colour in the glass, floral honey and Turkish Delight on the nose, stone fruits and honey and a touch of ginger and marmalade with a long finish. Drinking very well in 2023 and would happily wait longer (we couldn't though!).

Deep ruby, dense with a magenta tint. Ripe, ripe nose, almost a sense of over-ripeness, with a dense core of blackberry fruit manifesting as crème de mûre. Mouth-filling, almost unctuous texture, all enveloping. Mid weight, moderately long. Little change over a couple of hours, so will see how the remains hold up tomorrow, but ultimately, it’s part interesting, part impressive, but monochromatic and a bit of a one trick pony that one doesn’t want to ride too far. ***

Rich and full-bodied. Had little to no acidity left that made it cloying. Bitter finish. Disappointed by this as I've had good experiences with their sweets.
