Fantastic ripe fruit on the nose starting to have leathery notes. Silk smooth tannins but still holding up to a steak. Will likely not get much better, but it does not have to. It is a great wine.

In young Perrières flight. Broad array of ripe orchard fruit aromas and flavors, well supported with savory spice, peach, and so much energy. Impeccable balance, this is already drinking so well.

I can see how some may like it, but in my opinion it’s yet another lusciously sweet, unbalanced, syrupy wine with notes of burnt sugar and Pepsi cola.
QPR is good, yes, other than that frankly terrible)

What a lovely surprise. Short decant but didn’t really need it. Charming fruity nose. Peach, apricot, citrus, vanilla and a little smokiness. Nice tight minerality (limestone) Ready to be drunk. Very nice Chardonnay.

Decanted for about 30 minutes but definitely benefitted from more air as the tannins softened and the wine gained some color and body. May do best at this time with a 90 minute decant. Notes on the medium bodied palate of red cherry, raspberry, plum, earth, along with some sour cherry, herbs and cedar. The acidity is relatively balanced, and the tannins are relatively integrated (both depend on the decanter time). Will continue to develop in the cellar.

Vin d'une remarquable stabilité dans la déguation.
je réitère:
nez sur le fenouil, basilic, et cerise de terre.
En bouche, c'est compact et avec présence tanique soyeuse. On dénote la boite à cigare et le thé noir.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over lunch at Buvette. Deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of funky-fresh tart cherries, some horse stable, blackberries, pomegranate, river rocks. On the palate the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with some grippy minerals. Lovely with lunch! Drink now through 2032.

Red and black currants, wet earth, spices, hints of chocolate. A bit thin and not “grand” (for the lack of better words) enough vs my expectations.

👃 Ripe green apple, wild strawberry, flowers, brioche, toast, yeast and creamy autolysis notes.

👅 Medium-bodied (ABV 12,5%) with lively acidity (m+) and wild strawberry, ripe lemon and mint on the palate. Decent mineral finish.

Disgorged in January 2020 with 7 grams of sugar per liter

📝 Enjoyed on the first really warm spring day, which also happens to be my wife’s 50th birthday. 🥂🍾
Paired with shrimp toast Skagen.

🍇 55% Chardonnay, 38.5% Pinot Noir, 6.5% Mareuil Rouge (never even heard of that grape before 🧐).

Strong reduction on the nose of perilla/toasted seaseme. Tried again the next morning, it blew off a little, but still there, revealing more lemon, white blossoms, and some vanilla.

On the palate, the weight was really nice. Very well integrated palate. Great QPR for the price, but I found the nose to be quite aggressive on the reduction.

I found Jancis Robison's note on this quite accurate: "Quite big and bold but with lots of youthful acidity too. A slightly mealy, occluded nose and with perceptibly more body than the village wine."

500ml, bottles in 2012. Three years ago when visiting with the winemaker, he told me that they were thinking about doing a Golden White from the 1970's to complement the Golden Whites from 1952 and 1969. I mentioned that I hoped that it was 1971, since that is my birth year and there is very few 1971 Ports available. The winemaker said that if they chose 1971, he would give me two bottles. They were presented to me just before we tasting this wine. Beautiful honey notes on the nose. Beautiful tropical friut notes on the palate with a hint of spirit poking through. Full bodied. There is a sweetness on the mid-palate but the sweetness tails off and the acidity ramps up on the long finish.
