Quite mature with some oxidative notes overlying limey fruit. Very fine mousse, quite long and tangy on the finish.

Lightly smoky, minerally, spicy red fruit, a touch reserved on the nose. Medium bodied, red fruit, spice, touch of firm but fine tannin still, vibrant acidity, quite linear, decent length. Excellent, drinking well though absolutely no hurry

Classic Graves nose - warm earth, tobacco, smoke. Medium bodied, tobacco, earth, some underlying mainly red berry fruit, soft and harmonious, fresh acidity, finish is quite long. Lovely.

Dark fruited, spice, green pepper. Hand-soap? Medium bodied, cool dark fruit, quite linear, vibrant acidity, good length finish. Overall very good if not in line with expectations.

Medium bodied, quite savoury and spicy, red fruited, harmonious and balanced on the palate, a touch drying perhaps on the finish but overall very enjoyable.

Nose shows red fruit, spice, earth, palate is sensuous and caressing with red fruit, spice, earth, vibrant acidity, long, harmonious finish. Outstanding, drinking beautifully.

Rich, quite youthful nose, ripe dark fruit, cedar, touch of vanilla. Medium/full bodied, ripe, sensuous dark fruit, cedar again, soft tannins, fresh acidity, long finish. Lovely.

Aromatic, fragrant, red fruit, florals. Medium bodied, spicy red fruit, pencil lead, floats attractively across the palate, vibrant acidity, medium-good length finish. Relatively light but quite classy and certainly enjoyable.

Some red and black berry fruit here, a little restrained this bottle perhaps, some cedar coming through on the palate which is harmonious but not overly long or complex.

Lovely, textbook medoc nose, blackcurrant fruit, smoke, gravelly minerals. Medium/full bodied on the palate, dark fruit, smoke, mineral, a thread of fine tannin still, vibrant acidity, this has drive and excellent length. Outstanding, drinking now but with many years ahead of it.

Bottle #1 (smoke damaged). Had an odd, rotten seaweed aroma which was difficult to get past. A bit better on the palate but certainly not what it should be. NR

Bottle #2. Youthful, blackcuurant fruit, cedar, touch of gravel. Medium/full bodied, quite mouth-filling with lovely presence, dark fruit, spice, mineral, fresh acidity, quite long too. Lovely, no hurry

slightly quiet at first, then opening to reveal dark fruit, some exotic spice, quite rich with a touch of smoke too. Attractive and mouth-filling on initial entry, has soft tannins and fresh acidity but perhaps flatters to deceive a little as it falls away a touch on the finish.

Broad and rich, mature fruit, barley-sugar, with decent contrasting acidity but not much complexity

This again was quite mature with a rich, barley sugar nose, there was some orangey freshness about this though and it had better length and definition on the palate than the Guiraud.
