Ruby red color. Delicious Syrah aromas, with dark forest berries, herbs and forest floor, but also lighter berries like raspberries. After a while some wet brick. Surprisingly light, with little tannins and delicious fruit, where the light fruit reminds a bit of a Burgundy.

Dark and dense color. Aromas in direction of sweet dark berries, flowers, leather, tobacco and some oaky vanilla, and reminds somewhat of a "new world Bordeaux wannabe". Fruity and meaty on the palate, still with nice structure.

Aromas not ulike a Provence rosé, with ripe strawberries and herbs. Fruity, dense and full bodied, also like a Provence rosé, with nice structure and a slight bitterness in the finish.

Dark and dense color. Earthy aromas with sweet dark fruits, wet bark, herbs and some alcohol. In the mouth the wine is rich, mature, soft and not quite dry, and appears more agreable than the Orzada Carmenere, which is a bit surprising.

Tight ruby red color. Aromas of ripe dark berries, herbs, dark chocolate and something woody, or stalky, the latter probably green notes from pyrazine. Firm and structured, with good intensity for a wine at this price level.

From a magnum. Traditional Rioja aromas, with very sour cherries, black olives and wood, although not as woody as five years ago. Intense and sharp, with pronounced acidity, tending to being unpleasant. Needs fat meat!

Color something between redcurrant and mullet. Delicious aromas of honey and red berries, like raspberries and plums. Light weighted, velvety and semi sweet on the palate. I mean a bottle tasted before X-mas was better, though.

Very different from the generic Fleurie, as the Grille Midi is fatter and more meaty, with more concentration. This is certainly due to the old vines used here (90 years). It is also more enjoyable and accessible.

Expressive and ripe Sauvignon-Blanc aromas, with blackcurrant bush, citrus, nettle, smoke and green grass, in addition to some oak. Good concentration, with evident acidity. The sharpest Sauvignon Blanc edges have, however, been rounded off in the barrels. The wine can be drunk now, but will keep for at least another 10 years.
