Cava in Montreal. With Lamb. 13%.

Dark purple. Cherry, chocolate, and menthol aromas. Constantly evolved in the glass. Really ready after about 2 hours in a decanter. Good acidity paired well with the rich foods.

A full round wine. Perfectly balanced. Jammy strawberries with clear rose petal aromas. A gorgeous expression of the nebbiolo grape. Over the course of the night, it opened up and revealed greater complexity as it was rather guarded at the start.

Certainly very drinkable. Dark red color. Pronounced strawberries on the nose. It may be that because I have not had CA pinots in a wine, I find myself missing the more marked tannins found in Burgundies. What tannins are present in this wine, somehow feel like an after thought or an add on, something that shows up long after the wine is gone. I tasted it again the next day and it showed better. The subtle tannins had at least integrated themselves more fully. A testament to its balance that I did not notice its 14.4% alcohol.

12.5% Extremely well balanced wine. Tannins are resolved. I would drink this sooner rather than later!

Delicious red fruit. I would say that the bottle we had was a little tired, however. The acidity crowded out the fruit qualities to the wine. I would love to try it again.

Infanticide. I drank it too early. Roses, tar, and plums. Excellent potential, 5 years from now!

13%. A very approachable wine. Clean nose. Red fruits. Very smooth on the palette. I would say that the bottle I enjoyed lacked a bit of structure as the fruit overwhelmed what little of a tannic backbone was there. Perhaps the rich food I was eating called undue attention to this absence. Very enjoyable, however.

An elegant and feminine pinot noir. Red berries with a touch of earth. Even after an hour in the glass, the wine was still a bit closed. Needs more time in the bottle.

Delightful from the start. Clarity and brightness. The fruit gave way to tobacco and more animal smells as the night went on. 45$ BYOB. A wonderful wine. Should have left it for a year more to let the depth

Wonderfully balanced as the acidity, fruits are well aligned. Great minerality. Dry dry dry. I love this wine for its finesse and precision.

At 15% alcohol, I had a hard time recognizing it as a Pinot Noir. Fruit punched me in the face in all the wrong ways.

While the fruit is obvious, a bright raspberry nose, I would really emphasize the spice notes. Pepper blows from the class. Very well balanced in the mouth. Overall extremely pleasant to drink. Elements of wet fur from the Mourvedre.

Powerful passionfruit first overwhelmed the glass. Minerality and passionfruit later come into balance. Bright acidity chopped at the tongue but the fruit was there to make it all worth it. Gorgeous wine. Perhaps a bit too acidic in the end.

A steely wine with a strong backbone. It was served too cold but really started to open up as it warmed up. Passionfruit blended with stones. Crystal clear. I would say that it was less expressive than the 05 Pur Sang which seemed far deeper and more rounded. Still a wonderful wine and a delight to drink now.

I knew it was going to be good when my wine novice friend said, "It is stinky. It smells rotten." I felt guilty for drinking it so young. Beautiful light ruby color. Smells of mellow alcohol, red fruit, some fungal elements. Beautifully balanced in the mouth. Perhaps on the tannic side. Needs 10 years to really hit its stride.

Beautiful light red with brickish edges. Tobacco and herbaceous undertones on the nose. Clear fruit. Very supple in the mouth. Good length. Great finesse. Overall an excellent structure but it lacked a certain depth. It may have been a touch old. Lacked a 4th dimension that I struggle to describe.

A wonderful wine that refused to expose itself. Even after a couple hours of decanting, it remained tight and guarded. Wonderful moments on the nose. Dark stone fruit and tobacco.
