Drank over two days. Served at cellar temp, with bottle vacuumed overnight. As with last time, beautiful version of chardonnay. On day one, the barrel notes were evident, but those blew off with time in the glass and were completely gone by the second day. Notes of tropical fruits, mango and melon. Crisp acidity. This is what chard should be like, and at $30/bottle, this was an absolute steal. I would put this up against just about any premier cru chablis and would be very pleased. I'm glad I have more bottles of this.

April 2021 disgorgement. 6 years on the lees, 8 g/L dosage, 61% pinot, 39% chard. Yeasty/leesy on the nose, but that blew off pretty quickly. The oxidative Bollinger core is there, with toasted nuts, bruised red apples, apricots and nice acidity. The slow ox on the second glass helped tame the beast a little. But like MJP says, it is just way too early. I'll try hard to hold off on the rest of the case for at least two years.

8/29/22, 1:57 PM - I would like to say great minds think alike, but I don't think I have the necessary equipment! But when I first opened and smelled it, I thought it was a dead ringer for a Schramsberg Reserve (which we adore), though that comparison quickly faded as the wine got air and gave hints at what it may be down the road.

Beautiful nose over intense red/black hues in glass. Opens slowly, very slowly to a firm structure holding all sorts of black fruit and eucalyptus

Almost infanticide

PnP right out of the cellar. Beautiful right out of the gate. I blew out my palate on some spicy food about 10 minutes after opening, so not much of tasting notes, unfortunately. Citrus and melon notes all day, with just a touch of flinty minerality. Sharp acidity but is in balance with the rest of the wine. I'm looking forward to the next few bottles when I don't foolishly blow out my tastebuds.

Very good cooking wine.

Very smooth but not much on the flavor profile. I guess I was expecting more for the price.

12/16/13, 8:09 AM - Thanks! This is the first vintage I've ever had so I don't have a good basis of comparison.

2013 Christmas Wine Dinner (Naperville, IL): Similar to previous note. Lighter than most Cab's. I thought it is more old world in style, though others thought is was more fruit forward.
