Similar notes to previous tastings. Just a bit more refined and rounded. Went very well with homemade Sunday sauce w/ meatballs and sausage.

Ridiculously great wine- was able to snag this bottle a while back thru a friend on the list and sit on it. Well integrated Rhône Blend that has become silky smooth. Tons of primary red and black berry fruits, and with secondary flavors for days. Wish I had more!!

Not that great upon open or through 1/2 the bottle. Not sure if it closed down or faded substantially over the past year. Just not much going on at all on the nose or palate. Very flat, blah and one dimensional. Will see if opens up on second night.

3 years since my last bottle. Pnp as I do not decant wines if I have no idea where they stand in their evolution. Much improved from 3 years ago. Transparent garnet with slight bricking towards a clear rim. Herbs and spices, more red fruited than what I am used from Poggione, good acidity providing freshness, very elegant and aromatic indeed, slightly drying tannins, good length too. Il Poggione is usually not my preferred style of Brunello but this 2010 is really excellent and the best Poggione I have had. This will last but I will start drinking mine now (short decant only needed). 93-94

PS: Upgraded from 93 to 94 as this is showing really well at the 1.5h mark in the open bottle with tannins now fully integrated. Wow QPR

Candied (but barely) lemon is a fair tasting note. It still has that puckering acidity that is so distinctive

Drank side by side w the Ceritas TG ‘14. Nose was quite similar on both but they diverge on the palate

Another beauty from Booker. Glad I popped this when we did. Don’t see it improving much more with age, but in a sweet spot right now. Strawberry and floral notes. Finish didn’t linger, but definitely left me wanting more.

Not going to assign a score to this wine because I do not believe I had an accurate tasting. Brought this wine to a steakhouse in NYC. Had a series of wines that night - 2008 Buccella Katrina Eileen Cuvee and a 2006 Dancing Hares, some really big powerful wines.

Drank those first, so I believe my rating would be skewed, but this wine tasted hot, flat, and shut down. All I got on the palate was alcohol, oak, and more alcohol. This was probably due to have the Buccella right before which just blew me away.

Hoping that my assessment was off that night and will revisit my other bottle soon.

As good as I had remembered from previous years. Well made, fairly priced.

Extremely dry and acidic. Wood not integrated. Not sure will get better with age. Very little fruit. Too many other good 2010 Brunello to waste money on this one.

5/23/18, 7:33 AM - I am a fan of Brunello's, but not always sure which ones to target. Any suggestions for the most recent vintage?
