Magnum, with one hour decant. This is the first of four vintages produced by a collaboration between Justin Smith of Saxum and the late Philippe Cambie. 76% Zinfandel, 8% Syrah, 6% Mataro, 6% Grenache and the rest Tempranillo. A beautiful wine, deep ruby with intense aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, toast and spice. Full body, smooth tannins, long rich finish.

Measures up to its rating, but it needs some time to let the tannins mellow out some, give them 2 or more years before touching again.

Interesting blend of 54% Grenache, with the rest made up of dark black grape varieties - Syrah, Petite Sirah, Matero, Zinfandel and Tempranillo. Very dark ruby, intense aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, black plum, cedar, and prune. Full body, high alcohol, moderate acidity, with a nice long fruity finish. Well balanced, flavors integrating, drinking very well now but has to get even better with bottle aging.
