About the same as last bottle - maybe a notch below or it could just be my mood. Still needs to shed wood of course

This was really well made and actually reminded me of a good Chablis - on the other hand I’m not convinced that this will evolve into something better. Time will tell

I was kinda looking forward to this wine - have a thing for good whites from Rhône now and then since I love all whites the most. Big let down. Flabby is putting it mildly - but it’s also short and quite simple. This could be a heavy handed white côtés du Rhône if tasted blind. Alas - to be fair toi get hints of some good Condrieu or deeper notes on the nose but the taste can’t follow that.

About same as last time - it’s wonderfully made - perhaps a bit yonger even or I was just tired. Still this is one of the hidden treasures of champagne!

Prett much like last time - it’s surprisingly good - perhaps lacking a bit of terroir what do I know but it’s extremely well balanced and very fresh for a Californian 2014 - no I really like it!! :-)

Drank another bottle and really shouldn’t have. Like my last note - it’s good but quite - well perhaps not closed but just seems to show only bits and pieces right now. I’m not saying this needs to age for many years to come but it does need more time

Same as last time but I will add that I se trouble up ahead - there are some bitter notes as it sits in the glass and warms up - had a leftover glass a few hours later - it starts to oxidize somewhat. Only one bottle left now and we will drink it sooner than later

Excellent Bourgogne rouge ! All and more of what you can expect from this level. Lovely thick red both juicy and dusty fruit. Yum! Definitely potential here

Lovely wine in a style that I don’t remember to have encountered in Chateauneuf before - it’s very elegant and graceful but also full of minerals and with a tiny “hard” edge. Probably still very youthful due to magnum bottle. Perhaps not the best match to our rich Christmas food - but a very serious wine. I am sure age will do this really good

Pretty good wine typical of Gratien in style with autolysis and good acidity - but this is more expensive than the vintage and that is not right price wise. Will stick to the vintage wines from Gratien

This was lovely - none of the 2005 flabbiness that I could detect. Perhaps the finish was a bit short but that’s probably 2005 for you. Lovely

A lovely wine - if perhaps not worth the money and what you expect from a Chambolle-Musigny from a good producer. This is a négociant bottling - but should it matter? Red fruit through and through, a hint of spice and very elegant. But not much more. As I said - a very nice drinking wine but I’ve had a good handful of Bourgogne rouge that will give this wine a run for its money as well

Wonderful wine if perhaps not completely up to the standards of Foillard - I remember this cuvée to be even more perfumed and sexy. This was more restrained and backward - perhaps time will mend this

My first try of Montille. It did not disappoint- the nose was somewhat muted at first but to be expected- it did open up not long after. The taste is where the fireworks are now - just wow a feminine creamy fine fruit. So silky. Wish I had more

NOt my cup of tea. classic Italian wine, dusty, dry, little fruit. Could hardly stand up white pizza. Sangiovese CAN be lovely but it's rare - at least for the prices of top Brunello also

Much better than last bottle in 2019. the red fruit is out now to play - lovely. But at the moment I am not as impressed by this Domaine as I was to begin with. A lot of their wines seems a little harsh down the road. They need age that's okay but it's not as top shelf as I thought it was - at least I haven't seen any indications on that in a long time

Wondeful wine here - as I had hoped from the good reviews. It' super silky will all tannins resolved. lots of cigar. The lastertaste cuts off a little too quickly to merit a 90 but its still classic and lovely. Look foaward to se what the next bottle will be like.

A beautiful wine - if perhaps not quite as exciting as the first bottle. defenitly less fruity and more acid-driven. Not unlike at good Savagnin. Good sea food wine- it's not an aperitif

This is a good wine no doubt but I can't get over the high praise it has gotten internationally - 97 points from one professional reviewer in particular did draw my interest. The nose is lovely with red fruits if perhaps a little shy - and yes I did decant it for several hours. Most of the problem lies in the taste/after taste. It simply lacks fruit to be of any real interests or awesomeness. I'm not looking for fruit bombs here just a balanced wine, and I simply can't see how this would improve in that direction. I still have a case of this and granted the price is very fair. But even at the relativly low price I will be looking else where. I still prefer the whites from this domaine. they offer much more pleasure and immidiate drinkability.

This is August but the weather actually feels more like mid autumn so why not drink a 43 years old Bordeaux! We didn't have too high expectations with this one. This was our first Chateau Clarke oddly enough but through the years people have said it was not worth seeking out. But this was very interesting to taste. by no means dead, actually very much alive! The colour was a deep ruby translucent with bricking on the rim. The nose was a little dirty at first with some cellar funk and mushrooms so we decanted it for an hour and that revealed a lot of tobacco, gaze and dried red fruits. The tannins were totally dissolved and the wine was silky smooth with even more tobacco and gaze. burnt dry leaves, wet soil and dried fruits. There was even a touch of trompets of death. The finish was not very long but very harmonious. A lovely surprise from Bordeaux. Drink up before the last of the fruit fades away.

I’m beginning to believe in the moon and the starts when drinking burgundy !! Haha no maybe not but this bottle was totally bland compared the most all the other ones I’ve tasted perhaps 4. No explosion of cool red fruits this time just watery restraint fruit and oak showing - and NO I didn’t have a curry!! :-) you can’t win them all and perhap this wine is as just in an angry mood today and didn’t want to come out and play in the mortal words of Twisted Sister/ The Warriors. We will be back :-)
