Needs aging, but there is a lot of mountain fruit evident for a young wine from the most recent vintage. Tannins will resolve. Enjoyable with hearty foods. I consumed it with beef filet and béarnaise.

Burgundian in style. This wine needed the time before consumption, and will age 5+ years. Perfect with a meal. Enough acid to counter richness in food.

This 2005 is in a sweet spot. A lot of fruit but not heavy or over the top. Burgundian notes with dark fruits. Deep color.

At The Plumed Horse. Decanted about 1 hr. dark, deep color. Smooth mouthfeel. Fruits very evident. Tannins integrated, but optimally needs another year+ of cellaring, although enjoyable now.

Wow. Great new bottling from the Pisoni's. Depth of color, unctuous, bursting with flavor. Shared at Cantinetta Luca, Carmel with chef Jason B. who was very impressed.

A truly nasty bottle of wine. Huge disappointment from the SL Highlands. Bought direct from the winery. Overly tannic, mouthpuckering. Great if you want to start a case of acid reflux. Huge cost for a very poor wine. An under $10 generic pinot would likely be more enjoyable. Avoid. Dumped and opened a 2010 Lucia SLH. Vastly superior wine.

Tasted chilled but intentionally not ice cold. Light golden and clear. Fresh citrusy, but not astringent. Some vanilla back notes. Absence of stem aromas or flavors (positive). Bright acidity. Bravo.

Drinking very well for a 20+ year old wine. Still has a dark color without "brown edges" in the glass. Fruit is still evident. A great example of age-worthy California cabernet.

Fruit showing well integrated. Not a total fruit bomb, at all. Good deep color and cherries, cassis, dark fruits aroma and taste.

Cloudy, astringent, slight hint of fruit. After a few sips this is relegated to cooking. Bottle was properly stored. Some evidence of mold between the capsule and the top of the cork, as happens with older Burgundies, usually caused at the winery.

A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Very tart, which was overpowering. One of the worst pinots I have ever had. Dinner at Morimoto Napa. We could not finish this bottle, it was so disagreeable.

Decanted about 45 minutes at a restaurant. Stored in my cellar since release. This bottle has aged very nicely. Dark color. Not tannic, still showing mature fruit. Lovely with pasta and Bistecca Fiorentina.

Lacks depth. finesse. As the winery uses "screw top" closures, I presume that the wine is ready to drink, as it will not age. Could have benefitted from a couple years of ageing if it had a cork closure.

Drank at my birthday dinner with Gary Pisoni. Deep dark fruits and color. Complex structure. As it is still young we agreed this wine will develop well for the next few years. Compared side by side with the 2006 Pisoni Estate. 2006 more approachable by itself right now, but the 2007 paired very well with the California Guinea Hen wrapped in house cured bacon, braised Italian porcini, and organic fava beans dish served with the wine.

Drank with Gary Pisoni at brunch at our home, along with an '06 Pisoni Estate. Dark, but clear color. Subtle, smooth and feminine in style. Luscious fruits. Mark Aubert made Gary Pisoni's 1st pinot, a 1998.

Very supple and approachable after opening bottle for only a few minutes, without decanting. Dark, but bright color. Hints of macerated fruits, raspberry, dark chocolate. Long finish. Definitely shows the care that went into this special cuvee.

Not a fresh, citrus taste, rather an overaged oxidized wine (which this is not as properly stored after shipped direct from the winery). Has lost its youth if it ever had it. Funky. Wanted to like it, but far from acceptable.
I see others had this issue. I would avoid.

Dark, almost opaque color. Oakville "dust" on the initial palate. Black cherries, hint of leather. Well integrated tannins. Did not require decanting, but continued to open in the glass. Softened and drinkable now.
