With some air this seems younger than it is. Easily drinkable now and good value.

The nose was powerful immediately upon opening. Excellent wine for an off-year that appears to be underrated. Easily had 5 years left on it, likely due to a perfect provenance.

Drink up. This one is on the way out. Good colour, but very thin. Not much left on the nose.

This is an interesting meritage from BC, and while it has had a long line relative most BC wines, this one likely hit its peak a few years ago. I suggest consuming what you have left now. Not much fruit left in this bottle.

Lots of life left. No rush on this one.

I purchased this bottle based on the recent reviews here. Obviously the bottles vary greatly, but mine was excellent and turned out very well. Nose was classic Saint Julien and the colour was perfect. Didn't develop much out of the bottle but last well over an hour of drinking.

Astringent finish with medicinal nose, as others have commented. I suspect it peaked some years ago. Do not decant, falls apart the more air it gets.

This wine delivered the classic bordeaux nose. Stronger than most Saint Julien's in my experience. Plenty of life left in this bottle. Consumed without decanting over 3 hours. Never fell apart. Very underrated wine.

Cork was barely 1/4 soaked and capsules had plenty of play. I don't think this bottle lived up to the hype. Medium nose and very short finish. The tannins were fully resolved. Maybe some longer term cellaring will improve it.

Capsule and cork were in great shape. Fill levee was just below the neck - a tad short. The nose was stronger than the taste upon opening. It took 30 minutes to really open up. The bottle was heavily sedimented and required decanting and careful pouring. Over the 1.5 hours it was consumed it held together pretty well but I'm not sure it would have lasted more than 2 hours. Better than the '86, but not as good as the '89.

I opened and decanted this wine about 1 hour before I started consuming it. It continued to develop flavour over the course of 2 hours. I would suggest giving it more than an hour before you start drinking in earnest just to provide enough time to really open up.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium with low acidity. Classic barnyard smell.

The cork was completely wet and disintegrated upon removal. It took some serious surgery to remove it all so be careful when opening. About 60 minutes in the decanter had this wine opening up, but I think it's safe to say that it is past its prime. Still drinkable but not as good as the 1989.

The colour was a bit deceiving at first. And despite the broken cork and seepage, this wine was still excellent. A blind taste would have you believe this is a classic Bordeaux. The wine opened up nicely over 1 hour and last well over 2.5 hours.

Cork was moist to the top and broke during removal. The edges were brown and every glass was filled with thick sediment. Disappointing.

The wine looks ruby colored. There is moderate sediment in the bottle so decant it carefully. The wine finishes smooth with little to no tannin. I allowed this bottle to decant for over an hour before serving but it still greatly improved over the evening as it spent some time in the glass.
