10/20/17, 10:59 PM - hey CF, do you still have these in your cellar? I am trying one tomorrow night and may be interested in taking them off your hands. Let me know. -Smig
10/21/15, 1:05 PM - from that note, I will hold. Thanks for posting Graf. sorry bout that Spartan train that hit hard last weekend....
8/10/15, 3:47 PM - Thanks Bob, really appreciate the postive not. I need to get back to the OC for another card game soon. maybe after school starts in the fall?
7/29/15, 1:47 PM - Thanks for the feedback. :-)
3/18/15, 10:38 AM - I still have one bottle left and I will most likely drink it this year. Lovely wine and so blessed to be able to enjoy 6 of these in the last 3 years.
2/10/15, 12:46 PM - I am thinking that I will open a magnum of the 09 at our 2012 release party at the end of June, at the winery. I hope you and anita can make it.
2/10/15, 12:45 PM - sorry about the 08 being corked. Glad the 09 showed well for you.
1/27/15, 3:24 PM - Thanks for putting up the tasting note. I appreciate you dragging it to Switzerland with you as well.
1/26/15, 10:01 PM - um...were not worthy of that note. Thanks Grafs.
1/12/15, 10:46 AM - i still have one more of these left and am really looking forward to opening it soon.
11/18/14, 10:32 AM - great note!! i will be sitting on my case for a bit, or decant it a day ahead.
11/18/14, 10:31 AM - Brian, I still have one of these that you recommended to me, so many years ago. I may actually open this for thanksgiving based on your notes.Hope to see you soon.-smig
8/25/14, 11:52 PM - I may open one of the 12 i just bought to see how my palate aligns with Fire Bill, but given this note, I will sit on the rest for a while. Thanks for the note.
8/20/14, 11:51 AM - Chris,I have a few cases left sitting down in SoCal that my broker hasn't moved. You still doing any work down there?
8/20/14, 11:50 AM - We enjoyed two bottles of this wine this past weekend. its one of my favorite under 10$ whites when its hot. only a couple left from my last bottle case buy.
7/31/14, 10:33 AM - Everytime I see this bottle posted, I really do cringe. So glad everyone accepted my gift in lieu of the bugaboo in the wine.Regards,-dave
8/8/14, 7:53 PM - There must have been some kind of a microbe in that got into that bottling. it did not effect the blend or the Rutherford. We have taken precautions now that will make sure this type of thing doesnt happen again.
4/8/14, 6:35 PM - if either of you are interested in getting rid of any additional bottles you have, I am interested in interested in trade.Cheers, dave
4/9/14, 10:19 AM - Bud, I appreciate the offer, but I wasnt planning on drinking the Alban for a couple more years. I also need to sit on the Five/Five 2009 wines because those are my daughters birth years and the wine is completely sold out. so those are non-negotiable. Look forward to meeting you someday though.-d
4/9/14, 11:55 AM - I am a winemaker in Northern California. The only burgundy I have ATM is the first vintage of my buddy's wine - Maison Ilan. 2009.lets talk and see what interests you. dave@dacalier.com
4/8/14, 6:34 PM - I recently had one of my two and I too recommend you give it another year.
4/8/14, 6:31 PM - I believe I would have had to kill someone and proclaim "Diplomatic Immunity" I have one bottle left in my cellar and my wife doesnt know where it is.
12/19/13, 2:52 PM - Do you think this was due to the double decant How long did you decant?I still have 2 and am wondering whether I should pop one soon.
11/25/13, 8:36 PM - I sent an email to everyone on the 2010 explaining the situation. Fingers, if you or Rob have any particular questions, please let me know.Regards,-dave
11/20/13, 1:04 PM - LOL and I know exactly what you mean
11/4/13, 2:06 PM - My goal for this wine was a softer, more approachable wine as it was based off whom the wine was named after. The Simone blend took longer to put together than any of our wines to date as we really wanted to soften the wine and get a profile closer to a pinot than a Cabernet. If I read your note accurately, you both enjoyed the wine.
9/6/13, 2:14 PM - I still have 3 magnums and am still holding strong.
8/7/13, 1:36 PM - Thanks for posting a note MK. There are so many notes on our 08 and not many on the 09. I am enjoying both wines but the 08 needs an hour to start showing its fruit where as the 09 is pop n pour.-dave
8/7/13, 1:31 PM - Mark, can you get a hold of me on that bottle. I would like to know more if you have the time. dave at dacalier.comthanks,
5/13/13, 10:53 AM - Why drink ASAP? I have been enjoying my case every now and then over the last couple weeks and really enjoying it.
5/13/13, 11:21 AM - Thanks for the response. I will post a note the next one I open as well.
4/30/13, 11:07 PM - The 85% Ink Grade was aged 29 months in neutral barrels. This is really what the fruit brought to the wine, directly from the vineyard. The 15% Coombsville was aged in 50% new French Oak. Doing the math, this wine only has 7.5% new French Oak on it.
5/13/13, 10:56 AM - Then look out for Sydnee. She packs a bit more oak. :-)
5/13/13, 10:52 AM - psssst - its still on the killer price, by the case until its gone. :-)
4/24/13, 12:55 PM - W-S, Not sure if you recall, but you liked this one blind at the OC4P event in March that we both attended. I brought it and really love where its at right now.
4/24/13, 12:58 PM - YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
3/6/13, 11:27 AM - funny enough, I popped one of these last week and I felt the same way...Blech. I still have a couple 06's and will open them soon to see if they are in the same condition.
3/7/13, 8:38 AM - yeah purchased 2 of the offer from lot18.
2/1/13, 10:52 AM - Thank you so much for posting in English as well as your native language.
1/30/13, 10:20 AM - I have one bottle left and at under 5$ it was a steal. I was thinking of pulling this out for cooking. should do it soon.
1/23/13, 10:17 PM - I highly recommend to let this sit open a half day upto a full day to get the most out of it. I'm just sayin!!
1/16/13, 2:02 PM - +1 on how the wine tasted
1/17/13, 9:26 AM - Thanks AK. much appreciated. It is a young wine, so i dont plan to open mine for quite a while.
1/16/13, 1:58 PM - glad you both enjoy this. Even in my restaurant circles here in the bay area, the 2008 is still a long standing staple in 7-8 restaurants by the glass. I think its just now starting to shine. Having said that, I am bottling my 2010 and need to make some room, so keep on the look out for a berserker of an offer at the end of this month on the 2008. shhhhhhhh
1/15/13, 11:25 AM - Glad you like it GG. I assume it hit the spot for your steak dinner?-d
1/7/13, 9:55 AM - E,So glad you enjoyed the wine
1/3/13, 8:54 AM - Wow, I had this same bottling, assuming it was from the same closeout and it was singing beautifully. We tasted it along side an 07 Beringer private reserve and it held its own beautifully. I would have scored it a 91. I would guess you must have gotten a bad bottle.
12/6/12, 12:05 PM - I have yet to discover the mint in my tasting notes. I love getting a little mint or eucalyptus in my cabs.
8/27/12, 1:13 PM - Couldn't agree more. This is the only wine I have re-upped on the next vintage, from garagiste for a case.
4/9/12, 3:02 PM - Leo, I hope you don't mind me commenting on your note. I recall a tasting note on a magnum that had that same initial Band-aid flavor. That could be just a bit of brett on the wine and more of a bottle flaw than the one of the characteristics that I aim for in the wine. I look forward to reading your feedback on our wines, in the future.Cheers, dave
1/19/12, 8:52 AM - If you get a chance to let half a bottle sit overnight, you will be greatly rewarded. Its hard, but worth it.
10/4/11, 8:27 AM - interesting, I will have to try this.
4/12/11, 12:03 AM - Thanks for posting a tasting note Steve. The smoke was courtesy of Mother Nature. Mendocino had a lot of forest fires in 08 and Lake County is due east of Mendo. I would like to think that we did a nice job integrating the smoke and not having it be to overpowering. cheers, dave
4/12/11, 12:00 AM - Thanks for posting a tasting not J-D. I am in agreement with your drinking window.
4/11/11, 11:59 PM - Anne, I recently discovered a lone case and I am so happy to have it in my cellar for this summer. I can only hope that I do not drink it all. I want to see if this stuff ages as well as I think it can. :-)
4/11/11, 11:58 PM - Thanks so much for posting a tasting note. Always interested in feedback on the wines we produce.
4/11/11, 11:56 PM - Blue,So happy to hear that you are enjoying our wines. We do not make wines for the masses, but those that appreciate the Rhone have not been disappointed. Cheers - Dave (The DA in Dacalier)
11/26/10, 8:20 PM - Sorry to hear that you weren't a fan of De La Terre. Our goal for De La Terre is to make old world wines with California fruit. I know you're a fan or our Rose and I hope that we continue to meet or exceed your expectations when it comes to our Rose.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
