Definitely more mature and starts off right away with a great bouquet, reasonably complex body and not lengthy but acceptable finish.

Served immediately upon opening. Perfume floral scents noticed right away, with a taste to match. Integrated fine tannins but subtle and sweet.

Perfumey floral bouquet of dark fruit, dark purple in color with finer sweet tannins. Maybe a little too sweet? Aerated for only 20 minutes but seemed to drink the same 3 hrs later. Fair amount of sediment at bottom of bottle as would be expected by now. I was more impressed by this wine in Nov. 1999 than now, but received rave comments from others present this time.

Very good, as many 1997 Cali Cabs. Needed no aeration, and neither improved nor declined with air time.

Third time I have tried this since 2000 and it is really starting to arrive. I think it will improve more. The '01 is supposed to be awesome, but will it be better than this?

Amazing stuff here. Not as awesome as the '00 Leoville Barton, but who is complaining? I expect it will develop more character and complexity with time.

Very drinkable now, with the expectation it may be one of the best from this estate in time.

This is my kind of wine. Incredible now and it should be even better later. I sampled this over a three day period and it was spectacular each night.

I have the feeling this will be much better after some cellar time. Right now it doesn't open up. In fact, I think the tannins over-dominate the wine after only 30+ minutes of exposure time. So, my recommendation at this time is to pop the cork and serve right away or lay it down until a future date.

The best wine from Spain I have ever tried. It is still an infant and needs 3+ years of cellar time, but is able to be appreciated now.
