Yellow-gold. punch orchard fruit nose - pears and apples and I think something tropical too (especially as it oped up). Plus an underlying richness - toast-butter. This follows onto the palate where there is also a lovely core of ripe raspberries and then blackberry (especially as it opens in the glass). Actually as it warmed a bit the tropical turned to a banana-esque type thing going on. Really saline as well - moreish. Complex. Lovely.

Golden. Floral. Nice texture. Lovely end palate grip. Saline. Some tropical notes - papaya and green passionfruit. Stone fruit - especially Apricots. Coconut and vanilla. Fresh mouthwatering acidity and focus. Long. Rich and Intense.

Still some deep ruby. Heading a little toward garnet. Intense fruit. Rich and rounded. Blackcurrant. Long. Warming baking spices in evidence: vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Full bodied. Warming but not hot. Good structure. Still there but integrated. This is drinking really well now, but I think will still age nicely. Still primary and secondary. Yum.

PS it benefited a lot from a good decant- 1hr plus. Some of the riper notes do blow off and soften, which is benefit. It does show riper fruit for sure than some vintages.

Orchard fruits - Green apples and green slightly bitter/savoury notes - fennel and hints of chiku fruit (at the start) and then as it warms and opens up.... this switches to starfruit. Lovely acid lines. Texture from apple skins. Really moreish. Great stuff.

Light ruby with a touch of garnet. Fine light colour. Transparent. Notes of dried strawberries and cranberries. Citrus peel - flavour and texture - blood orange. Lovely mineral and stoney core. Quite a bit of fine tannic structure - so I think this has years to go and will be interesting to see how. Savoury and definitely a food wine. Long. Light to medium body. Fresh. Depth of favour belies the light colour as is the case with Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. Excellent indeed.

Ruby, tending towards garnet. Very good clarity / transparency. Raspberries. Cinnamon. Nutmeg. Fresh. Fine, yet nicely framed tannins. Lovely ripe fruit power. Very long. Smoke (especially in back palate). Very faint sous bois, but still quite a lot of fruit power in front.

This tastes a lot younger than 14 years to me. Much more raspberry than the strawberry I tasted last time. Hasn't evolved much to my mind. This is in a very good place though.

Dark ruby. Deep in colour. Black cherries and Cranberry. Really long. Southern warmth. Integrated Mediterranean herbs. Soft integrated tannins now. Some juiciness. It's clearly full bodied and generous, but it all sits together seemlessly. Much more settled and harmonious now than when I tried it a few years ago.

Check out that colour in the photos. Just looking at it, I'd have made the call on an aged Sauternes, Barsac or Tokaj. It definitely isn't of course. Lovely colour isn't it. The back description on the bottle promises things like richness, honey, nuts and complexity. First thing I should say is that yes this is old and probably slightly too old a wine for many, but actually it was super fresh. Lovely acid line of citrus - mainly lemon, but with a splash of orange. Texture coming from lemon pith too. This frames the wine and the nuts, honey, toast and complexity all follow along at the right place and pace. Long and super interesting and actually really very very "Pleasant"! So glad I left this to age.

Gold. On the nose, wet rocks and spice. Quince - the fruit, not the jam/paste. Starfruit. Hints of dragonfruit. Much more about the mineralogy and spice than strong ripe fruit, although this is nicely there in balance. Fruit intensifies as the wine aerates/warms in the glass.
