Phil's impromptu tasting fun (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Smells softer than the lupe chalot; a little cream, red and black cherry, sweet spice, tiny herbaceous note. Juicy, very slightly tart red cherry fruit, a little herbaceous nte here as well and a touch of woody texture.

Emmanuel Brochet New Release (Crab at Bay): 80% PN, 20% C, 8 years in bottle on lees, from purchased grapes, 3586 bottles, disgorged Nov 2022, 2g. Orange, citrus, slightly oxidative notes probably due to the lees. Palate is rich, expansive and fresh. Oxidative notes more prominent on the palate. This is much better than the bottle I had tasted 2 months back.

9/1/23, 4:20 PM - do the math how can it be 12 years in bottle on lees

Light body. Found this to be quite disjointed, closed and tight with high acidity and limited fruit. Even on day 2 this did not improve. I am not sure further cellaring will improve it much.

Sunday hangout (and goodbyes) (Chicago, IL): Disgorged April 2015. Quite impressive for a 2011, but despite that not a champagne that I would really care to hunt down. Lacks the brightness and acidity that I would want in a chardonnay-based champagne, and there is a very slight herbal (not green) tinge to this wine, underneath the slightly oily wine. I do wish this had a little more cut.

7/18/22, 12:13 AM - interestingly your experience of wine fits exact into what it is. an old vine 100% pinot blanc from a difficult vintage. even cedric hopes there is more cut to it, however i believe it still outperforms any other champagnes from that year.

More approachable than the Bons Baton right now.
Nose: violets, cherry, some licorice
Taste: dark cherry, dusty black fruit.
enjoyable now, but better in 2 years IMO.
Top notch Bourgogne Rouge

淡雅的红石榴色,新鲜的红色水果香,樱桃,草莓,一些甘草,作为餐酒非常合适

Pretty disappointed given the price point of this wine. Complete lack of fruit, balance and structure. Still pretty tannic, but I just can't envision it improving much with age.

Gourmet Traveller Wine Single Site Pinot Noir Tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney): Dusty, spicy and slight early tones. In the mouth the wine is sour and bitter, not very nice.

8/27/15, 8:36 PM - i drank it over 3 days. similar findings on the 1st day but it took my breath away on the 3rd. give it a try that way.
