Incredible experience with something so aged, yet hitting on all cylinders. Nose was Lafite perfection and palate was lively through the finish. What a treat

Very surprised as I'd had the pleasure of enjoying this wine in other vintages which were very good, but this '14 was drop dead gorgeous Meursault. Lots of focus and mineral in palate initially. By mid sip, this wine fans out and offers up some roundness with ample fruit. Could hold off for another few years, but absolutely singing right now.

This is just starting to unfurl - plenty of time left, but just fantastic right now firing on all cylinders. Brambly fruit with nice structure and a light mineral core.

Out of Magnum, this maiden voyage for Laurent as a negoce sourced Corton-Charlie was a very pleasant surprise. Has just enough verve into some nice orchard fruit. Labelled "An Zero" presumably b/c Laurent's negociant operation didn't really start in earnest until '16. I'd drink up here given vintage and how this showed. Lovely stuff

Coming into its own right now with some air - slow ox'd for 3.5 hours. Just an incredibly elegant wine. The mineral core comes through but so does the darker fruit into a long finish as you'd expect. Has that grand cru mouthfeel in mid-palate. This will be really good for the foreseeable future, but was a wonderful check-in. 70% new oak treatment has completely integrated by now (and with air). Maybe the best Clos Vougeot I've had this side of Rene Engel

Ready to go. Color shows some age. Mature in a great way with dark fruits, some earthiness, just enough backbone and a nice finish. No reason to wait and if this was an old world wine it would be much better known.

In the zone right now. Grand Cru weight with some interesting mint notes on palate. Great relative value makes it taste even better. Shhhhhhh.....

Drank from Magnum and now scouring for more! Smoky, earthiness in mid-palate that is incredibly distinctive. Finish is still pulsing with energy. Everything you'd be looking for in a middle-aged, high-toned and energetic Champagne. Can't recommend this enough even though I'm not looking for too much competition in the secondaries market :>

I don't give out a 99 lightly - 2018 disgorgement. Incredible oxidative notes layered over a powerful mid palate. 50 second finish. Worth seeking out for Rose benchmarking to say the least!

Just adding depth to the piercing mineral core now. Absolutely bristling with energy as you would expect with this wine. This is a 30-40 Year Champagne that is just getting interesting now - wow

Wonderful dark fruit for an '85 BDX - retains structure. Unbelievably bright and fresh at this point.

Fascinating wine I served blind to the group - all agreed it was a Barolo!

funky nose in a good way, not Brett. Long finish that does have elements of piedmont wines, but is probably more attributable to the terroir of Fontenys which is way up the slope from Ruchottes.

This wine was well worth the journey.

Fantastic example of '96 Left Bank. 1.5 hours decanted and left open for later in the program. Nose is perfect and this wine is well into drinking window.

So different than the '09 and I like them both. The '08 is so powerful, precise and has darker berry notes both on the nose and through the early signs of a mousse-like finish. Should age well, but hard to keep these in the cellar!

Despite cloudiness, really had held onto the '93 power without giving up much fruit. Very dark, sappy, "grippy" fruit as is the hallmark of Dugat's best wines. Gets a 93 alone for A) being so good as a village wine 26 years on and B) having such good balance of fruit and power, which has been an anomaly versus many '93 red burgs. Regardless, drink now though as it is unclear how much longer this has

In a great spot right now. Really good red fruit for a MSD and just enough back bone for a long finish. I would drink now through the next 5 years. Wish I could find more as this is really in balance and a very pleasant example of a red burg with some age.

My first experience with anything 2016 coming out of the Rhone and wow! I drank this bottle over multiple days and the fruit and structure are there for this to even age exceptionally well for a CdR. I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say good value given I paid low $30s for this, but for a world class producer I am very encouraged about the '16s now.

Taut and powerful, which I like. Has a long life ahead of it, but was so much fun to consume for NYE. Great bubbles!

So much power for a 2012 with bright acidity and a long finish. Out punches Clos de la Barre in 2012 in my opinion. What a stunning debut for this vineyard under Monsieur Lafon's watch

Exceptional depth to the mid-palate combined with a deft touch of orchard fruits and just enough mineral influence make this a wonderfully in-balance example currently. Plenty of power and in general drinking so well considering how premoxed this vintage has been. Exceptional juice.

Pencil lead with vivacity! Dark fruit as always. Serious material for aging if interested. Seems at least 5 years too young. Good stuffing and long on the finish for such a basic Rhone.

Great drinker. Everything you'd want in a Rhone. Good fruit, spice and leather. Not shocking oven producer. True sauvage at an affordable price
