Starts to show first signs of aging. More caramel, honey and resin notes, pineapple seems to be retreating but is still the dominant taste. Acidity is high, finish medium long.

Though still incredibly young, acidity is not as dominant as it was in other vintages of this wine. This vintage is much more balanced and already shows some little signs of exotic fruit, which is very pleasant. Great entry level Riesling and qpr.

Somewhat different nose from other SBs, kind of muted. At first lots of acid and then nice fruity notes with some notes of oak and resin. Develops quite nicely in the glass. Medium long finish.

Very light almost clear color. Great room filling scent of exotic fruits. Huge, electric acidity that gives room to citrus and a hint of exotic fruits and white peach. Short finish. Obviously still very young but with a great future.

Pale yellow. Nose of citrus (that decreases with higher temperature), white stone fruits, honeydew melon and some oak and flintstone. Crisp acidity revealing a nice fresh but greatly balanced riesling. Great introduction level riesling but the Westhofener Riesling is still a step up in quality and not that much more expensive.

Slight leaker, but no obvious flaws. AP... 16, 8.5%. Nearly colorless. Nice nose of tropical fruits and some peach, at first some petrol, but waned off really fast, still some different funk remained, that increased with temperature. Huge almost electric acidity, nearly sparkling/fizzy, but well balanced with tropical fruits (pineapple mostly) and peach on the palate. Medium long finish. Really good, if it wasn't for the small leak I wouldn't have opened it, as I think it will even improve quite a lot over the next years.

Opened 3 hours in advance. Nice purple color. Instant distinctive scent of blackberry even in a meter distance, some spice. Though very young very well integrated tannins, medium+ acidity. Nice spicy, meaty and peppery notes. Medium long slightly hot finish. Very nice, will stock up.

Pale yellow color. Nose of pears and slight grapefruit, already revealing nice acidity. Sparkling (mouthfeel) medium+ acidity but very well balanced with the same yellow/white fruit, that was in the nose before. Medium long finish. Overall nice but unspectacular wine and regarding qpr there are many better alternatives in German riesling.

Almost colorless, very light yellow. Great nose of peach and other ripe white stone fruit. Nice almost sparkling/fizzy feeling high acidity, but perfectly balanced with the same fruit that already touched the nose. Incredibly nice, balanced and an almost perfect young Kabinett. Medium long finish.

Pale yellow with a slightly oily appearance. Subtle nose of peach and pear. Nicely integrated medium acidity, incredibly round, tasty and elegant. Medium long finish. Great wine at an absolute bargain price.

Nice dark purple color with extremely long legs. Pepper nose. Dark fruit (very fruity after some time in the glass), very tannic at first, but that tannins get really fine with some air, medium acidity. Hot finish. Still very young.

Released in 1986. Lots of exotic fruit, honey, resin in the nose. Nice dense and rich sweetness but still a nice acidity. Hard to describe single flavors, rather monolithic. Nice medium long finish. Hoped for more but still very nice and would have never guessed that this is 33 years old.

Straw like in color. Lots and lots of exotic/tropical fruits and slight honey in the nose. Perfect balance between tropical fruit (lichee, pineapple, mango) and a nice acidity (grapefruit). Extra long finish. Incredibly tasty.
