This is drinking perfectly now. The fruit and tannins are in balance. I'd rank this up there with the great ones.

Disappointing. Leathery nose and initial taste. It did open up after a few hours. Usually more of a fan of the label.

Decanted for an hour, cloudy and turned brown. It still had some acid and tasted more Bordeaux like. After three hours it started to fade quickly. Drink, if you have any.

After having a Zinfandelcentric steak dinner, I decided to try something different. I had picked up this bottle in the early 80's at the winery. The wine was a light brown color and the bottle contained sediment. It had a light nutty taste. Everyone enjoyed it and it went perfectly with dark chocolate caramel salted dessert.

We tasted the 2013, 2014 and 2016 with steak dinner. After decanted for a few hours, the 2014 was best, but later on it was the 2016 that was the champ. These are not typical "Sonoma" Zins; they are from Napa. A field blend with less fruit. Very interesting.
Red
The worst Zin I have ever had! Raisin juice. Went directly down the drain.
Red
I know this is an "entry level" Hartford Zinfandel, but what a disappointment. High alcohol, no tannins, and fruit that disappears quickly. It will not get better with age. $40 is a lot for this wine; get some Seghesio for less than half the price.

The most enjoyable Zin I have had in a while. Balanced, not harsh, great fruit. Drink now.

I never tasted anything like it. It was like eating rye bread! Awful. Maybe it was a bad bottle, but nothing else was wrong with it.

Very enjoyable everyday chardonnay. Lightly oaked. Balanced. I wish it was less than $28.

Off nose, but once you got passed that it was very elegant. Mild tannins. Much improved in the third hour. Drink now. It was slightly better than the 1981 Jordan we had also.

Interesting zin blend. Some deep spice flavors. Goes great with pizza, but I may try aging a few bottles.
Red
It starts out being overly fruity. It is one sided. Over time it gets a little better. Worst 2019 Zin I have had.

We had a bottle of the 2017 on the Queen Mary 2 a few weeks ago and it was fabulous. I saw the 2020 when I got home and thought I would try it. This is the worst bottle of wine I have had in years. It wasn't flawed, just bad. You would never know it is chardonnay; just some bad tasting "stuff".

Tight, one dimensional zin. Some chocolate, no fruit. Kinda disappointing from Steele, not Pacini quality. I don't think aging will help.

We had this Zinfandel with steak and foie gras. Excellent. It still has plenty of fruit and drinks beautifully. I don't think it will get better, so I will be drinking my remaining bottles. Paul Draper is the man!

Just delivered. Young and tight. I let it breathe for two hours, but really needed four hours to open up. Dark fruit, cherries. 15.5 alcohol is not overwhelming.
Red
Really dissappointed. I finally found some on the shelf at a good price. Overpowering, not easy to drink. I don't think it will improve with age.

Dark fruit, maybe one sided Zin. The 15.2% alcohol packs more of a punch than you think. Drink it now.

Great alternative wine. It's not chardonnay or SB. Somewhere in between. Lively fruit. It would be great on a hot summer night.

Beautiful red. Just a little different. Balanced, good fruit. Drink now or in a few years.

It is hard to believe this is an Old Vine Zin. It is all fruit and no body. It would be great for sangria, but not at $20.

Very disappointing. Harsh. Small fruit. I don't think aging will help.

First taste was bitter and it never got better. Some rasberry fruit. Harsh. With all the good Zin out there, there is no need to buy this.
