Medium ruby red with a garnet hue. Layered nose that definitely shows of the American oak. Notes of coconut, dill, dark bitter cocoa, a little earthiness, and red cherries. Medium tannins (6/10), balanced acidity and a medium to medium plus body. A bit fruiter than the palate than the nose. Dark berries and earthiness throughout with some dark spices. Long finish. Drink till 2030.

Deep garnet red with a ruby hue. Definitely shoes it’s age on the nose with some mulled berries, mint, herbs and baking spices. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium minus bodied. Tannins linger for a little on the palate with notes of plums, gravel, anise, spiced coconut, vanilla and red berries. Medium length finish. Drink now.

One of our first attempts with the Wake Up Wine for seven minutes. Looking forward to more bottles with this new toy. Deep purplish red. Layered and rich nose coated on a mix of cinnamon sticks, black and blue berries, anise, and some crushed rocks. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Still a baby but getting better and better. Notes of aniseed, baking spices, pepper, black berries, cocoa and blackcherries. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028.

Dark purplish red. Dark and rich on the nose, can easily smell inches away from the glass. Aromas of anise, vanilla, oak and black fruits. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Insanely rich on the palate, the flavors completely coats your mouth. Layers of cassis, plums and dark cocoa. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2042.

Made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for 26 months in 90% new French oak barrels.

Clean and very dry on the palate with notes of citrus and stone fruits as well as wet rocks. Starts to get richer with some air adding in some creamy textures. Long and dry finish. Drink till 2022.

Inaugural release of this bottling by Hall Wines. Made up of 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Knights Valley AVA. Aged for 9 months in 30% new French oak barrels.

Deep garnet red. Layered and rounded nose with a punch of cinnamon, black cherries and a touch of tomato in the backend. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Very interesting right after having the Oak Knoll bottling. The SLD is more layered with minerality, red fruits and something a little vegetal. Once it started to open up it put forth some blackberries too. Long finish. Would be interesting to see in five or so years, potential is definitely there. Drink from 2020 till 2032. (90+)

Made up of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap and 5% Petit Verdot from Rutherford. Aged for 22 months in 70% new French oak barrels.

First stop in Napa is to the Elyse Winery, which was recently purchased by Josh Peeples and Cheryl Foil of Standard Deviation and Addax Wines. This vintage of Rosé was just bottled yesterday. Pale salmon pink. Fresh and clean on the nose with some strawberries, white flowers and melon. Medium plus acidity (6.5/10) and light bodied. A little tight but clean on the palate with some chalk, melon, kiwi, strawberries and minerality. Medium length finish. Drink till 2021.
