Wanted to see this succeed. Unfortunately this was a big mess. More process then fruit and what fruit there was there was left entirely unsupported by any type of brioche or yeast, toast, or wonderful warm notes that it's region across La Manche enjoys

Outstanding. Marriage of flavors rooted in cassis berries, saddle/tobacco, hints of cardamom. Mid palette bridge a smooth walk to the finish: as in, Yes, I’ll finish that.

Note from the Importer, AVID Vines:

"2012 was a year to cherish and preserve as its own vintage. Rough weather at the beginning of the growing season tested the vines, but idyllic conditions settled in beginning mid-July and charmed the vines with light wind and strong sun to give everything they had to a young owner-grower winemaker, Julien TIXIER, experienced enough to understand how perfect the season was and talented enough to stay out of the way and let Mother Nature do its best.

This is one of the best examples of Mother Nature & Owner Grower collaborating organically to make Premier Cru Champagne. Preserving the nuances of this result is the reason why we import with refrigerated containers across the Atlantic. No juice-altering, 30 degree (F) swings in temperature under our watch.

Brut Millésime 2012 starts off spicy and peppery on the nose with a blend of white peach, clementine, honeyed almonds, a pat of butter, chalky soil, orange zest, a puff of smokiness and a hint of saffron. On the palate the wine arrives pure, fresh, full-bodied, and beautifully balanced, with tremendous mid-palate depth, elegant, pinpoint bubbles, grip and a very, very long and complex finish - which simply means, Yes, I’ll have another sip."

Note from the Importer, AVID Vines:
"A blanc de blanc made from the first crush of Premier Cru Chardonnay grapes. A glossy champagne with golden glints; generous and ample with characteristic Chardonnay aromas: toast, hazelnut.

Good Blanc de Blanc showcases notes of citrus and bread loaves. Add a great growing season in 2015 under organic farming methodologies (blended with 50% reserve wines from other years) with TIXIER's swordsmith/winemaking talent and you get buttered, salted brioche exploded with mouth watering acids from electrified lemons.

Pair with any bounty from the sea: Black sea bass with citrus salsa, Chesapeake Bay or Skidaway Island oysters, crispy lemon garlic butter scallops, Big Green Egg charred vegetables with lemon aioli, and plates of pasta Florentine or Thai curry coconut noodle dishes."

Tasted at Flora Street Cafe in Dallas, TX as part of a wine dinner paired by Stephan Pyles (James Beard award winner).

Exceptionally paired with a tandoori fish dish that brought notes of plum, lavendar, stone fruit (think peach cobbler), and aromas of same. Rounded mouthfeel. Characteristic of its majority of Pinot Meunier (65%) in the blend.

A level of freshness and bubbles on par with the best.

Quickly aerated. Would have better executed the tasting had I opened the bottle earlier and given it time to breathe. The wine drinks like it is in its nadir/peak. Complex notes of leather, tobacco, cherries in the nose. Tannins giving way to flavors of berries, anise, saddle. See the menu here http://bit.ly/2x7Gla6
