Very nice, enjoyed it a lot. In a bit difficult stage, loosing all the primary feeling. But might have to wait another 10 years to really build up the secondary. not shure if it will be better, only different?
Dark sweet/sour cherries , broad aiming tannin grip getting finer but definitely strongly present.
buy more? yes but probably younger vintages.

Finally this wine is getting around and all strings pulling the same way.
Fresh, clear cool Pinot.
Not at all a big wine, but intense. and tannins more evolved and integrated.
Lovely smell of wild strawberries and slightly humus, wet mold.
decent length and
In the mouth, velvety and intense with some wooden hints in the background.
Drunk with turkey, waldorf and oven baked potatoes

Second slightly disappointing Knoll Smaragd wine, the other a Riesling from the same year. Either a bit to hot storage, or a year with a bit less acid.
Nearly nothing on the nose to start with, and in the mouth a lot of dryish bitternes. Feels flat and no fruit or fresh fruitacid.

Two days in the fridge and something has happened. Feels a lot fresher, some common spices and flowerish on the nose and dried fruit without sweetnes in the mouth.

Overall very interesting, but have to taste more before buying Knoll again.

Still a fantastic wine, this time consumed with norwegian lobster soup.

Fantastic light golden colour, with a clear lightning sparkle in the middle.
Lots of maturing lemons and wet mineral/stones and seashell on the nose. The white flowers still present but starting to mature.
Interesting oily, but light at the same time in the mouth.
Incredible length and complexity. Buttery and aln a little hint of nuts starts coming out.
After two hours the wine had a little periode which i thougt it getting signs of OX... the buttery/nutty/ with a bi smelly socks came creeping out. It came and went, and turned out even more complex.

Drank with creme brulee and matches the caramell coated vanilla perfect!
complex nose with fantastic raisins, figs and sticky flowers all over the place..
a tad less oily than two years ago, but very much the same in the mouth with a lingering and long finish that goes on and on.. suits the wiener philharmoniker!
would love to go even higher on the marks, but with some rare wines from mosel and saar down the memory lane last year this wine has serious competition!

Dark dark black and red as a mix of red and black ink.
Toxicating smell of crushed blackberry, blueberry and a wet plot of wild strawberries. It literally fills the room with its aroma.
Intense flavours deep taste and strong backbone of tannins make this a rather perfect accompany to a perfect cooked entrecote with oven baked potatoes.

Drunk with lamb confit on my birthday. Took exactly 6 hours to open up..
Beautiful dark red colour with vigour.
A nice rather intense nose of blackcurrant, tobacco and rich strawberries dried in a cedar-box.
In the mouth; velvety, after left open for 6 hours opening up, and the first tannin grip let go. Quite intense still and 96 is a vintage that has all the element for longterm cellaring.
A delicious wine, if not up to the best of the 80´s.

A very nice wine. But since it didn´t open up and delivered more during tasting i didn¨t go higher.
Nice aromas in the glas, light strokes of wet humus and some all spice. And mature well hung red berries.
To look at a bit to much shades of brown towards the red brick core. Not as sparkling red as expected.

In the mouth it goes very well with the meat, a nice string of fruit acid and a more velvety feeling of the tannins makes nice mouthfeel. A bit to much feeling of warm fruit without the food, making it not so interesting after the meal.

A very very good bottle.
Enjoyed with kettle-baked steak.(ox)
Fantastic on the nose from pouring into the decanter. Fills the air around the table with intense aromas roses, very fresh red berries, fresh cut old timber! from the mountain.
In the mouth the berries are darker and more mature. Strong fruit acids, but not violent in any way. Tannins are clearly there, but works fantastic with the food, and tho hours later extremely fascinating without the food. Lots of hummus feeling from earth up in the mountains drying in the summer sun.
Strangely brick red with a rather evolved watery edge. But keeps much more together than the looks.
Easy to understand all those who eays this is the one closest to a nice burgundy of the Produttori´s cru´s.
Should have had more of these..

Clear medium intensity red colour.
Closed or not up to standard? Was expecting some more intense wild red berries and fresh morning dew up in the mountain forrest.. But out came anonymously dry red pinot with rather aggressive acid tones and nearly no sweet red fruit. Hmm Boring and sad. Dryish wood tones, but not against vanilla or tobacco like flavours.
Not first in my buy again calender..

Drunk with hot smoked mountain trout.
Not as deep or golden in the glass as previous bottle. Actually more of the clearity of the -04.
A "big" wine, with a glorious mouthfeel. This has more of the sizzling lemonish acids that keeps the palate fresh and thirsty.
Holding together very well, and looking forward to enjoy the remaining bottles over the next 8-10 years.

As always, a stunning experience. (yes, we are Egon Müller groupies..)
Not as deep and intense as 05, 07 09, but a fantastic wine.
The apples on the nose, getting more mature, and a lecker lemonish towards sweeter grapefruit.
For a kabinett, rather thick vinous mouthfeel. But growing in intensity and beautiful balance between fruit and acid. Perfect accompaniment to smoked mountain trout.

Drunk with some filet of moose.
Following from hour 0 to fifth. And fascinating to see how it´s developing.
Starting rather closed, but with the food in the 2. hour it is at it´s best.
Earth, warm autumn leaves, tobacco and some black fruits, more towards blackberry than blackcurrant. And grandma´s cans of plums with brown sugar cyrup.
Firm and notable tannins, but softening up without loosing the grip. Keep it in the mouth for 20 sec, and the after taste keeps going on for a minute! Everything is packed in in a velvety layer, giving a very nice mouthfeel.
A very good wine, but given the chateau and vintage, slightly disappointing

A very beautiful spanish senorita.
Definite on the feminine side. Light on the nose, light weight in the mouth, but just keeps on coming and growing in intensity with air.
Actually best in the third hour. Very sweet toasted vanilla/oak and sweet and sour red berries(strawberry etc ) but also some mediterranean spices with hints of roses in the background.

Drunk with mountain grouse and classic "grouse-sauce".
A very very good bottle of wine.
A nose that makes you start think about life, and wanting to explore the wine, in the glas, with food, without food during some hours. Just a tad to "sweetish"(sødmefull), hints of mature fruit.
Beautiful tight dark red colour, but a clear watery edge on the rim.
An hour in the decanter before dinner. Extremely pleasing already from the first zip. Mouth-coating and very approachable. Just a bit to velvety and soft for the meet.
After two-three hours holding much more together, the tannins more clear and stronger acidity. Lots of sweet red fruits and nicely integrated oak. For the food it would have been perfect with the other way around.
Perfectly mature now, but will hold for years, but will it be better?

This evening we broke our promise, with opening a new bottle years before i had said.. But since there was quite a few warnings at the norwegian wine page we took the chance.
Againg paired with moose, this time with baked vegetables and the stock-sauce. A classic well tuned match.
And the wine has changed/matured quite a bit.
Still a fantastic open bouquet, lot´s of crushed berries, violets and a warm autumn evening in the forest (the nose is the best), velvety juicyness with soft but clear tannins working well with the food.
Now it´s coming more and more in the third hour, simply for the price a very well made working horse of a bordeaux.

I had very high expectations for this...
It´s either in a dumb fase, or at some point last something precious..
A bit to yellow in the glass which makes me a bit sceptic.
Very muted on the nose, some citrus and wet mineralstone in the sun. Some crushed white flowers(hylleblomst?) coming now in hour three.
Not a broad wine in the mouth, but quite firm without giving the extra nuances you would have hoped for.
I´ll save a glass for tomorrow evening.

For us with a sweet tooth, this is great stuff!
Thick viscosity, oily and smooth. You could drink it drop by drop! Since it is so concentrated every zip last for a very looong time.
A deep deep amber/golden/mahogny like colour.
Smells of what it is, drops of nectar from dried fruit like , pineapple - lychee - apricots - melted brown canesugar on a fresh creme brulee.
In the mouth it follows same patterns, the sweetness is rather intense, but since our bottle has a very nice fresh acidity it adds up very nice. Kracher is accused in local wine-sites of being cloying, flat and not interesting, they should come home and try some other austrian sweet wines.
It would be interesting to test these against german rieslings. Even if i think i enjoy those even more, we still look down in the cellar towards austria with a smile!

A very youthful appearance for a nearly 30 year old wine just after opening the bottle.

Freshness and full of vigour.
Opens up fantastically on the nose through dinner. Wild strawberries, forestflowers and wet ground.
A bit brownish shed to look at, and the watery first mm´s at the rim shows it´s age.

Works very well with wild game and mushrooms.
Not as big and impressive in the mouth as 82, 85 and 89. But than neither these years warmth and more restrained and very refined mouth appereance.
A beautiful mature claret, with still some nice years ahead.
I simply adore this chateau.

Looks, mineral greenish with some golden hue.
smells: very little, it denies to blossom and keeps it for its self. Apple tree flowers, wet stone and light citrus.
In the mouth: Mineralic, acidity, light lemon, mandarin citrus. But rather greenish. I guess it is simply too young. Should have kept it 3-5 years longer in the cellar.

Looks: Dark brick red with quite wide watery rim. Nice legs inside the glass.
Smell: decanted for 30 min, and starts of with crushed cherrys and redlike berries. Soon the wet autumn forest, black tea(bergamoth?) dark and mature heavy flowers. Orchidees from an old forest? The expensive tobacco perfumes comes after an hour, integrating with the fruit flavours. After three hours more dominant.
In the mouth: Beautiful. Velvety, perfect blend of grapes, red and black fruits, some cassis and mellow tannins, acidity, and a long long finish.
Drunk with Filet of moose calf, gratin og vegetables and steak sauce.
Definately worth buying more of this chateau.

Very fresh and lively with a nice darker undertone.
Quite light and Pinkish! colour and with the spots of darker red in between it has a special glow in the riedel glass.
Both wild fresh strawberries and more dark garden ones.
the high fruit acidity makes it a very nice close to perfect food match.

Incredible!
Even better than most Kracher TBA i´ve tasted.
Mainly because higher /more freshness talking about the acidity balance towards the sweetness.

A bottle of true rare nectar. Syrup, but made of estract of juice from lemon, lime, lichi and pineapple, blended with dark dark "ruhr" sugar.(cane) dark brownish golden coloured. Intense, and thick. Very oily in the glass. Every drop explodes in the mouth and it keeps it going as long as it feels forever.

The only reason for not going even higher of points, is that i have very muvh strong hopes for som TBA in the cellar, müller, prüm, breuer, among others....
I´ll definitely buy more of this producer!

The aromas filled the room by the time of decanting, and was competing with the steak of moose in the saucer.
Exclusive leather, perfect mature red and black fruits and an old cigarbox filled with Cohibas.
In the mouth perfect balance of fruit, tannins acid and a fantastic velvety mouthfeeling that made all guest around the table several times simply forget the food and just sitting there. With a big happy smile on their faces.

A very good wine, but slightly less impressive than i was hoping for/expecting.

First hour, quite warm fruit and slightly sherrylike odours. But very intense from the start. Needed a lot of open air time.
Also for the taste and mouthfeeling.
Very acidic and quite hard and harsh tannins. But also an overwhelming mouthfeel.
the next day it smells fantastic of roses starting to fall apart. Intense sour cherrynotes comes to mind and the tannins are now fine-grained dusty with every grain a little handgranat of smell, taste and mouthfeeling.
Looking forward to follow these wines along the road.

It is written low acid and unbalanced different places.
On the first night it was unbalanced, hard, steely and like a unmature green apple.

On day two it was transformed to an even better wine to drink today than the auslese.
Equally impressive mouthfeel, with mandarine, sweet pineapple and sunenriched white flowers on the nose and ind the mouth. Still quite sweet, but with a fantastic thrilling acidity that tickles around the palate.

Bravo!

Nice mellow red, not to deep but quite intense.

Smoke, smokish and sweet vanilla. After two three deep long sniffs, you can finally smell the very nice grapejuice that is covered by the oak. There is sweet red berries, early autumn forest and some leather.

Deep intense flavours comes around when finished with the smoked vanilla-three...It has a quite velvety mouthfeeling and a quite tight and structured acidity that makes it very nice with the food.

But you need to be a forestfriend to look forward to the next bottle...

Beautiful yellow/golden colour.
Strong scent of something rich, warm and sweet, that has been cooled down. Also a waxy feeling and strong aromas of dried fruits.
Strangely the sweetness doesn´t show at once, but fills the mouth in the middle and sticks to the gum and teeth for minutes.

For us a perfect bottle mature bordeaux.

We have a cold cellar, maybe it slows down the process in a positive way!

Beatiful red brick colour, long legs and so wide watery edge towards the rim.

Fantastic nose(best), with barnyard, cigar, leadpencil, dark warm red berries and a man´s leathercoat drying over the fireplace.
In the mouth soft with a firm grip beacuse of the acidic structure keeping things tight at the right place. Layers of layers of things to discover as you dear keeping it in the mouth and en explosion when you finally swallow and let it get some more oxygen.

Very elegant and a textbook of how a bottle of bordeaux made in a classic manner and kept in a decent cellar can end up at the age of 32.

If I can afford; buy more of this and other vintages.

A fresh nose, with citrus, mostly lime. A bit unmature green green apples from lillestrøm or hardanger and aromas of fresh cut wet green vegetables.
Surprisingly two other as well notes a hint of petroleum.

Crisp, crisp crisp in the mouth with a hard core of fruit that needs 3-5 years in the cellar to mellow. (in contrast with the 2005 drunk at christmas.

Smells also of sweet warm fruits and different coloured roses. Some leathery bits is arriving at the back.
Just grows and puts on weight in the mouth, has developed very nice since last time a year back. But feels like 2-3 more years will only be for the good! But also here the warm feeling is rather strong, but not in a very bad way.

One of the best young rieslings ever tasted...

Extreme clarity to watch in the glass, with equally greenish and yellow goldish shine to it.

Aromas of absolutely perfect ripe sweet fruit like pineapple, mandarine and norwegian lateharvest apples.

But in the mouth its a hefty war going on between extreme acid and fresh grapes, fruit and berry sweetnes. Greens apples dominates with zingering mandarines during first hour. Later on and next day, much more complexity and a nice bittery underlaying bite makes it even more interesting. Things mellow and its easier to really enjoy a fantastic mouthfeel with a wine that fills every hole in your teeth...

Will try to buy as much as possible! A perfect Spätlese.

A rather disappointing experience...
For me it was strange from the opening of the bottle, with a smell that was complete without any hint of sweetnes.
And that continued also during the evening, even in the mouth.

As berry/fruit/vegetablejuice without sugar...

The "dryish" feeling was dominating, but with the acid and strong structure, it work well with the food. But without adding any sensational feelings.

For a nice burgundy with a proper age, i would have expected some more complexity, autumn forest and crushed red berries. But without food it was mainly just a boring wine.

Based on this a NOT buy wine, but this producer has given fantastic evenings before, so it deserves a chance to make it up. In a while, a year ??
